This is the first FM I have had on an SSD...yeah, it is much better!

I really like some of the new tactical features, and choosing your hometown is a nice touch, even if it is meaningless.


Also, another thing that made me smile; I just signed Dave Beasent as a GK coach, and it said it 'was a welcome addition to Pighardia, as he previously lacked international experience in his backroom staff'. Nice touch, can't remember if it was in previous games

Started playing a bit, can't really get into in.

I'm just doing rushed transfers, because I feel lost. I think its mainly because of the changed UI. I feel lost, not sure where I have to go or what I have to do, even though the basic concept has remained the same.

I was given 2.5M transfer budget. My team was ok, although as always, there was room for improvement.

I bought Rever (2M) and Gaitan (7M). I sold Cadamuro (1.6M), Zaratuza (7.5M), Ros (1M) and I sent Oraizun, Hervyas, Zubikari and Hernandez on loan.

I wanted to buy Diarra, but I am out of non-EU spots :/ I have to make do with average backup MCs. I also need a striker. I have 0 budget left, and a bit of wage budget. Can't find any decent people to get on loan.
 
Most unrealistic thing to ever happen in FM just occurred in my game. Hull just secured a draw because Danny Graham scored a goal.

I want my money back.

The selecting of your Hometown when you start out as a manager was in the series years & years ago. Can't remember if it was before or after the split from Eidos, but it was definitely there before.

And, with the dark skin, you have to subscribe to it, then when you start FM click on downloads, then on Steam Workshop in the top right corner, then click on the skin to install and use.
 
Downloaded, added a bunch of playable leagues, comes out as 65,000 I think. Sunday league experience, starting unemployed and holidaying until I get a job offer. Lets do this !! :D
 
Exceedingly annoying that I can't alt-tab out of the game on by Linux laptop. On the plus side, it will prevent me from using FM Scout.
 
Skipped on 13, belive it or not... up until last night was still playing the first save started 2 years ago on 12. One club man in the year 2028:)

Picked it up while doing the shoping last night. No messing around this time, straight in on the forest.

Your bank might be to blame. I paid on a credit card and a few minutes later the provider rang me up to check it was me because gamefly take a small charge first and then the rest, which apparently is what can happen when fraud occurs. Card provider then lifted 'restrictions' on my card.
 
I started unemployed with Sunday league experience. I was offered the job at Stockport which I accepted. They had just been relegated into the Blue Bet South/North. Somehow, without much of a wage or transfer budget I got them promoted twice - into League 2. Then after a season in League 2 I got them promoted into League 1. I was quite impressed but that's where my success ended. I got absolutely hammered and ended up at the bottom of L1 by Xmas. My club was insecure financially and very out of sorts. I was completely out gunned by almost every other club in L1. I decided to look around for a new job at this point, and was head hunted.

I joined Charlton who were fair to middling in L1 and got them promoted into the Championship :D This is where I am now. First season in the champs and I'm doing okay - 15th spot, approaching October. But it is very competitive. Some of the former premiership teams are rich and have ridiculous budgets compared to mine - I have £400k transfer and £120k wages. So I will be lucky to stay here I think. It's a good job I jumped ship - I see Stockport got relegated into L2 and now are struggling at the bottom of that!

This financial fair play thing seems a bit awkward though..

I don't get it either. I get the odd message telling me that the club will meet the rules but I don't think there's enough information to show this. I've also seen messages about new tax rules for income in the UK. Again it doesn't really show me what this means, all I see are the new tax brackets.
