Yeah if I don't set prematch training as def set pieces I'm almost guaranteed to concede from one. Also it seems like every single cup match is a draw/replay and penalties. Not what I need with the schedules in lower leagues I had 4games in 8days!
 
15 games in, and My centreback is my top scorer...even more ridiculous as I am Brighton, who never score from corners!

So annoying....I am Brighton, now there is no way they would sell Liam Bridcutt for less than 5m(7m probably tbh). He is valued at 4m, and Sunderland offer 750k, I reject it and Bridcutt demands a new contract going from 6kpw to 18kpw!...that just would not happen! In the end I had to negotiate, but I have used all of my wage budget without being able to sign anyone, as it has happened with about 4 players!

I'm overwhelmed by the amount of options you have for your overall tactic and then individual instructions. :( Preseason went OK but we're getting pumped in the league.

Back to back promotions with Cambridge now, into League 1! Hopefully I won't get too battered, a board takeover would be lovely right about now
 
Anyone else finding you are having 20+ shots a game about half as much on target and lucky to score one goal but opposition has about 3 shots on target and scores 2? im getting average 4 ccc and more half chances but every game is a struggle. Also got it selected as work ball into box but still so many longshots!

I think the match engine needs a little tweak - my biggest problem is with AI set pieces. The majority are lethal. I am definitely noticing quite a lot of shots at goal, too many to be realistic I'd say. Long shots are definitely a bit of an issue as well like you say - I am also noticing the goal keeper kicking too long frequently - but it might be more of a tactic tweak than the match enginer per se. Have you had a look at the tactics of the team AND the player? There are a lot of changes in there. You can specify what type of kick/throw your keeper will do and whether it is more direct or shorter, stuff like that.
 
My team play from the back alright, keeper distributes to defence unless they are marked or he is being closed down, I have trouble with my fullbacks getting awful averages and not defending well. Concede a lot of freekicks but score none myself xD

That's interesting. I've been reading a bit about these fullbacks with awful averages - what is an 'awful' average? My two first players have 7.03 and 7.05 and my central/limited defenders are 7.03 a piece. That's not too bad all things considered. But I have to say, I feel that they are not performing as they should - and apparently some of the fans have been voicing their discontent at one of my new fullback signings - so it would suggest there are problems. But I can't really see where they lie. I am wondering if it's because I am playing at a much lower league than before - most of my big FM13 games were with leading premiership saves, and this current FM14 one is with a team I have built up into the Championship. So in theory, it *should* feel a bit different.
 
The awful defending, particularly on the wings, is a known issue and should hopefully be addressed in the next patch.
 
Ugh, stupidly offered a trial to someone that I now want to rush and sign, but withdrawing the trial results in the agent saying he doesn't want to talk to me after a breakdown in previous talks :mad:. Would be a good free signing in Jon dos Santos too.
 
Not had much of an issue with fullbacks, my RB was in team of the year with 7.28. Most of my goals conceded last season were because of my keepers awful positioning even with his stat as 10.
