******* Official Football Manager 14 Thread *******

So, being curious, I bought the in-game editor for £4 purely based on the fact that it's an FM-developed feature. I really wish I hadn't.

I certainly have no intentions of changing attributes, CA/PA or anything else (I invest too much of my time playing this game too cheat - although I did up Uwe Rosler's PA to 197 for a laugh... he's currently in charge of Bournemouth) but for some reason I had a look at the PA of some of the regens I'd signed. No idea why I did this, and unfortunately the CF whom I'm playing as a lone striker isn't going to be as good as I thought he'd be.

Either way, I'm now constantly struggling with the urge not to look at the PA of any regen I buy/find. I'm managing to stave off the urge to do it at the moment, but the annoying this is you can't uninstall the in-game editor... it's now a button that sits in the corner of my screen... staring at me. Calling my name softly.

Muhahaha.. That's brilliant, i didn't even know it existed. Quite tempted myself but then I'm thinking it will spoil the game after a while. I like to keep player masking on and all that jazz.
 
Quick questions hoping someone can help me please if i bought a hard copy ( dvd) can i play it without going through steam ?

Just in case others aren't aware.

You need to login to GMG and get your full key. They don't e-mail you to let you know about it.

Also two keys are listed. One is the Beta and one is full key. The second line is the line you want. I was copying both lines for a bit!

Not sure if cheapest but Football Manager 2014 (£35 on steam) is £20 from Grimsby Town Football Club. Cheapest I can find.

They will probably charge postage if you can't get to the club shop in Cleethorpes!!

edit: it's £3.50 for royal mail recorded delivery so £23.50 total

Right paid £26.15 for it from green man gaming, had a quick look at saints, we look silly!

Now where are some kit packs for this year as well as perm thingy m'bob and should i just stick in my old face pack?

sortitoutsi has the best stuff as far as i can tell. Use the old facepacks for now as they work fine.
 
Does anyone understand financial fair play seems like it will throw a spanner in the works for some loss off £15 mill over three seasons from what i can gather?

I'm going to hold fire until the weekend. If BF4 isn't fixed by then, I'll definitely grab a copy. I don't usually buy it on launch and I thought BF4 would be taking up my time.
 
Just bought this. Didn't play 13 at all, and barely played 12, but thought I would give it another go.

I can't start the game!...I click on it, and nothing happens. Task Manager says it is running though(in [processes, but not applications), and Steam says I am in the game
 
Pretty sure you can, as the file structure is the same.

I don't have any of the packs still on my PC, so I'm gonna try one of the 2014 ones. I just wish there was one download instead of lots of parts!

edit- actually, the DF11 pack is one big torrent, so I'll try that.

PS. Interesting to see Steam Workshop integration. I subscribed to the dark skin though, and can't seem to find it
