Doable on medium. But unrealistic. Try to get that on expert :p

I started 14th and got 3rd against Legendary AI. The times the Legendary AI set are way off what the cars set in real life. The times I'm setting in time trial are within a few tenths of the real life times so far this season.

Legendary AI is too easy, relatively speaking. I mean, if I was in a McLaren/Red Bull/Ferrari, I'd probably end up lapping the entire field seeing as in a significantly slower car I'm challenging for the win.

That all said, however, I have only done Bahrain, so maybe the AI will be better on the other tracks (the AI do suck pretty bad in the last part of the first sector and in the second sector - they brake way too early, even against me in a lowly Virgin, so maybe it is just Bahrain).

I've got all of the aids off save for Automatic Gears (although I do use the "Corners Only" racing line during practice to get used to the track, if it's one I've never been to that is), as it's too much effort to change gears manually with an X360 controller.

At the people complaining about the Steam unlock not being until 6pm....shouldnt you be working? :p :D

I can't believe there are serious arguements over who got the game first .

Some people on Steam have been playing since tuesday, some retail people have been playing since wednesday. Some steam people are still waiting and so are some retail people. All swings and roundabouts :o

I thought there was supposed to be problems buying this games retail version (PC) - just popped into local Gamestation and got it for £24.99 ;)

It does seem rather pathetic though that Steam/Valve, a company selling products internationally can only function in one timezone!

It isn't their fault from what I gather Codemasters decided they wanted to release the game earlier than planned at the very last minute. Resulting in new purchases on Steam being available from the newly scheduled time and pre-orders still being stuck on the 6PM unlock. It isn't Valve's fault that Codemasters waited until the last minute to change their minds. Although admittedly there is some fault for Valve in regards that this was a miscommunication that should be resolved by now, especially as all this confusion would have been at 3AM this morning and it's now 1PM.

The problem was that Steam changed the release timer on the store page with no indication of any timezone or country release differences yet did not apply this to the pre-order system.

Codemasters were aware of the lack of release by 8-9am this morning and with Valve being based on the US West Coast nothing is likely to actually be done until 5-6pm when it was originally meant to be released.

I'm not particularly disappointed in not being able to play the game just yet as I was fully expecting a 6pm release until a few days ago. Unfairly it wouldn't surprise me if Steam gained further sales through updating their release timer only to not live up to their promises.

It just adds another big company to the list of appalling service we all have to endure.

obtaining a product before it's release date via means which are illegal is illegal.

It's like saying, I've pre-ordered a product but i can TPB a week early so i'm not doing anything wrong.

But anyway, mine has arrived woo. DFG is going to get some bigtime use

What?

So all the people that had it a day early in the post broke the law!

Don't be a brain ache, it's not illegal. Nobody has download a pirate copy because they've pre-ordered it.

They're playing the exact same files that they'd use after release.

isn't using VPN a violation of isp's?

No. Not even close. Why the hell would you even think it is?

I'm guessing... because you have no idea what a VPN is?

Could be against the terms & conditions of Steam or the game in question so they could just ban you from Steam if they had a way of tracking it. Unlikely, but plausible.
I had a good thorough read of the steam T&C's before i did the VPN trick and there is absolutely no mention of it at all.

Of course it's not, why would it be? Do you have any idea what you're talking about? You're clutching at straws for some reason.
for the people that used the vpn trick, have any of you gone back into "online mode" yet?
Not yet, i'm in no rush either, it's not like steam has to be online to get Multiplayer in game or anything, i'l wait until its unlocked for everyone.

in the sense that your using the vpn to connect to something your not allowed to. IE: steam USA?

What's illegal about that? Who says you're not allowed to connect to US Steam?. In the same way, do you think the people setting up a US Playstation Network account are also breaking the law?

Virtual Pirate Network

:p

How is that against the law?

It may break some of Steams terms and conditions, though I can't find it mentioned anywhere.

Knock yourself out though.

Edit: Apparently not then!
