Ok, I'll start this off with.. I hate Monaco. It's awful, truely awful. I hate it,

Secondly.. wtf? I pit 6 laps in into monaco and get released, the car I have set to auto control in the pit lane. It then releases me infront of Mark Webbers car which proceeds to appear as a ghost car, then turn into a real car just as it sort of morphs with my car, this rams his car up in the air slightly and I get a 10 second penalty

Why is this post ignored is this vid for real ? if so people must be in denial :D

Because it wouldn't make any sense for codemasters to do it. They've already got an engine that works with AI that works and can race. Why would they they REMOVE this and fake the race?

I was reading the CM forums earlier and anyone who complains about something is quickly ganged up on, as if ignoring faults and false praise is going to make Codemaster pull their finger out and fix it.

I still don't understand how if they can't make AI competitive in qualifying then how can they do it for race? or is the AI skipping pit stops bug not actually a bug and intended to make the AI more competitive?

It's funny everyone critiques the graphics engine which I think is pretty good, it's the fundamental gameplay that is broken. Every F1 game I've ever played has mainly been about racing against split times, in this game you don't even know where anyone else is on the track.

Just did a race in Malaysia, was running very well in 11th/12th position, I pitted, and dropped a fair few places. I turned the fuel simulation off, and I did a lot better. Pitting is still sometimes funny (surely, if I was 12th, and I didn't mess up, when everyone fits, and the race pans out, I should be close to 12th again).

Anyway, I am getting better :)

Pit stops don't make sense at the moment.

Maybe F1 times are too close together and too fast to make it work. Maybe they wanted the cars to be lapping in realistic times compared to real life (I was surprised when I first played the game how close they were). Who knows, but the evidence for this weird behaviour seems irrefutable, see below also.

It is strange. The first time I played I thought 'there must be a setting to change that to split times as it makes no sense now'. There wasn't any such setting. It's not just F1 games, but any racing game has split times back to the cars behind or in front of you. Even GRID and DiRT 2 have these. Something's up, that's for sure. I'm really disappointed, but it's not ruining my experience online at least, not yet, though you still can't get split times with real players. You'd think we'd have that at least.

I few things are starting to spoil this for me now :(. Doing a 7 year career in Virgin car. My Qualifying times are decent putting me in the middle of the grid. When it comes to the race I'm struggling to keep up with the other cars, even those that started at the back. I turn off the fuel simulation and it gets better, climbing up the places slowly so I put the AI of Legend to make it feel realistic. Start the race and all is well, then I pit from 15th position after most others have already pitted, and I come out last. I'm on the prime tires and now I'm lapping 2 seconds slower than the next slowest car on good clean laps :(!!! Either they are on the fast option tyres again and cheat by not using prime tyres (they only pit once during the race), or the full tyre simulation needs to be turned off as well :(.

Just had an epic fail of a pitstop. Got held in the box for ages dropping me from 8th to 23rd and when it did finally release me it was straight into the side of Di Grassi. Top work team.

I then got all the way back to 10th by not pitting when it started to spit and was doing great until the final lap and then the grip suddenly went from 'virtually as good as dry' to 'LOL NO GRIP SPIN SPIN SPIN' and I dropped back to 24th :(

I think the Fuel simulation is broken for AI cars, it doesn't seem to affect them.

I hope there's an office full of Codemasters employees patching all these fundamental errors right as we speak. I know it's an advanced feature, but if you're going to include it, it's got to work at least! Perhaps they should have cut it from 2010 and put it into 2011 if they couldn't get it right.

The more I play and the more I see, the more I think this game was rushed, big time. Don't get me wrong, I'm still enjoying playing it a lot, especially online, but Codemasters had a fantastic opportunity to really nail a brilliant F1 game here and they've made silly mistakes all over the shop. Frankly, I'm pretty puzzled as to why unless it was rushed out. Still, some play testing must have revealed these issues surely? It's like they were coded in and never tested out!

I've encountered an issue virtually identical to that which was posted with the spun car zooming in front of the player. I unceremoniously drove into Kubica as Alonso in Brazil and headed for the pits. Last time I saw him, he was spinning just before the pit entrance. Next thing I know, he's zoomed past me in the pits.

On legend? Your asking a bit much of yourself aren't ya?

What mainly annoys me, I like to have all assits off and all simulation on bar pit limiter etc, I stick AI on intermediate. Still find it hard because I simply can't stop spinning out I mean it only rarely happens usually once a race but it's enough to put me out of the winnings and it usually only happens after a decent distance. Which gets me raged tbh. I only do 20% races but I hate wasting time so failing gets me mad, haven't played it for a while now :p

To avoid the 'pit stop' bug I just avoid a strategy that would find me pitting with all the other cars, like when the tyres wear down :p. Tis kinda silly because tyres will not wear down the same across the board, needs some flexbility.
