Is there a way to turn the Ghost car off in time trial? It distracts me from my concetration, I find that I concentrate more on the ghost car in front than the corner! I just can't help it! It ruins my laps! I desperately want to turn it off!

Shameless bump regarding this comment. It just obscures the braking zones and corners!!! Grrr.

Simple solution: Continuously drive faster than you ever have before - that way the ghost car will always be behind you and no distraction at all.

im not sure what good save games do? I copied mine over 3 times now from my old install, and all it does is restart my career on this install :( Good job i was only 1 race in.

Exactly! I reinstalled Windows last night - saved my save games - Went to play them again and it won't find the saves :( Got all the way up to Singapore :(

Yup, happend with me as well. Save game back ups are useless with this game :p

It's a GFWL game isn't it?

This is the same with all GFWL games afaik, you must back up your save and also everything do with GFWL, otherwise your backup saves won't do jack. It's the GFWL bit that catches people, it's never mentioned anywhere but if you want to back up anything connected to it, you need back it up and restore it on your new install too.

Will keep that in mind!

It's a manual operation i'm afraid, you have to dig out the install folder etc. yourself and manually back it up.

There is probably a guide online that will tell you which files you actually need, I tend to just backup everything I can find related to it and copy it back over after the (re)install.

Think i might just crash out taking loads of cars with me in Catalunya. Its just ridiculous. I can make up time in sector 1 and 3 but in sector 2 the AI take all the sweeping bends flat out which you simply CANNOT do in the career lotus car, no matter what setup you are using! This therefore means you are always a second or two down on even the crap cars.

I owuld love to see a video of people that claim they can keep up with the AI in this race (legend AI, tyre and fuel on, all assist off , manual gears e.t.c.)

Haven't had a puncture in ages since I started driving better - i.e. not locking wheels, sticking to the racing line, not burning up the rear wheels using high revs etc.

Did a 58 lap race of Melbourne and well the game is a bit annoying.

First pit stop, they put the option tyre on again!! meaning I had to stop again. Within two laps of that pit stop I got a puncture. Was slightly annoyed. Ruined my race finished 19th :(

Doesn't make any difference, punctures are random.

How else can you explain getting a puncture, pitting, exiting the pits and getting another puncture the instant the rev limiter is turned off. Happened to me in an online race and a few others have had the same thing happen. Punctures are random and have relation to how you drive or how wor the tyres are.

I just did a full race weekend of Bahrain, hardest difficulty, legend AI and no assists in the Lotus. Got upto 11th with 2 laps to go when I get a puncture, I enter the pits, as I do so every other car streams past as my pit crew take nine seconds to change four tyres, nine ******* seconds, then the lolipop man holds me for another three seconds before releasing me. He holds me for a safe release even though every car in the race has already past me while I was stationary.

The best of it is my scheduled pit stop took less than five seconds, so I reckon pitstop times are random as well. My pitstop after my puncture wasn't unscheduled either, my engineer told me I had a puncture and I requested a pitstop.

And the AI cheats like ****, they get around corners at speeds and angles that break the laws of physics. They also cheat during a race. I followed Buemi for a few laps and finally made it past him, I then started to pull away from him until I catch the next car up. I get past a few more cars until my pitstop, then after everyone has stopped I end up loosing about 5 places and Buemi has some how jumped me in the pitstops.

As much as I like the game I don't think I can play the single player part of it. There are too many annoying things in there to make it a fair and enjoyable experience.

Roll on the patches.

Or F1 2011.

Even on medium difficulty, the AI is just insane. On all other tracks, I can spank them, but not that one, oh no. I managed to qualify first somehow, just one good lap, and then close shop, but could only finish 10 in the race. They are always on your tail and impossible to shake off. As soon as you make a mistake, it's bye bye! I think Cataluna might be broken (or it's Coddies' favorite track).

The pit AI is a bit broken as well. They don't mind keeping you waiting for 15 seconds and ruin your race.

Ace game though, from a gamer perspective. I'm no hardcore racer, but really enjoy the career mode, and all the various assists that help you learn your way round the tracks and learn from your mistake.

Monaco is really hardcore with a pad I much prefer the standard tracks, but coddies went to town on Monaco, it looks unbelievable. And the rain effects and standing water, oh man...

Every puncture I had when I first started playing were my own fault - driving on worn tyres, hitting kerbs hard, driving into the gravel often. Am still not convinced they are random, but I think there needs to be an option to switch them off.

Edit: This is looking better and better - http://community.codemasters.com/fo...47-f1-2010-pc-real-mod-screenshots-video.html

They must be random.

Again. How else can you exit the pits on brand new tyres and get another puncture as soon as you turn the limiter off?

Every puncture I have had have had nothing to do with my driving, in every case I hadn't been off the track at all and my tyres were in good shape or brand new. Punctures are very rare in real F1 and are certainly not caused by using the kerbs. Watch any F1 race and drivers use all of the kerbs and more, at a lot of tracks now they have grass-crete on the outside of kerbs because the drivers are going so wide.

Anyone noticed speedhackes starting to plague this game?

I'm looking at the Leaderboards in Time trial and I'm starting to see more and more ridiculous lap-times. Melbourne for example, People pushing 1.09's which is totally unrealistic and there is no way they can get a time like that legit.

So I decided to race their ghost. And yes they are speedhacking.

Hope Codemasters do something about this.
