Hi guys.

I'm on race 13 of the first season, and was wondering when do teams start showing interest in you? Getting bored of the Lotus!

I've only had two points finishes, one in Canada(3rd) and the other in Hockheim(5th)....on legendary AI with no aids at all.

Yeah I was was playing last night in career mode and for the first time it froze on a loading screen. The only thing I had changed was the sound options from Raptor to Hardware. Have you changed your sound output ? I'm going to play now and change the sound output back again to Raptor to see if that makes a difference. It's the first time it has frozen but it's also the first time i've used hardware sound output, so that's maybe my problem, try yours as well to see if that makes a difference.

i haven't changed the sound settings. its on Raptor.
 
I've noticed a lot of people starting out with Lotus. I've started with Force India as they are a better team. Is there any reason why people are choosing to start out with such a terrible team? I mean Lotus really are as bad as they come.
 
Because most people want to play the game starting from the very back, which means picking one of Lotus, HRT or Virgin. Virgin and HRT are completely nondescript and have no history - Lotus on the other hand do.

I'd imagine that's what leads to a lot of it.

I had no interest in starting with the best team I could select. It feels almost like skipping into the second season straight away to me.
 
Also, depending on how many seasons you chose to commit yourself to, at the start, as to what choice of team you have.

Does it happen every single time ?

Edit: I was reading on the official F1 2010 forums and some people are reporting that it is a corrupt save file (possibly) because when they deleted their save file the game was loading properly. You could give that a try but you will lose what ever progress you have so far :(

I'd say make a back-up and delete the save file, try the game again and see if that solves the problem ... hopefully it works for you buddy.

Save file should be here. C:\Users\User Name\Documents\My Games\FormulaOne

I started a 7 season career so could only choose the back markers, i imagine on a 3/5 you can pick the mid-field teams.

As for "why lotus", uh, history and the simple fact its Lotus.

It depends on how many seasons you have gone with, if you have started with 7 you only get Lotus/HRT/Virgin if you start with 5 you get better teams.

yes it happens every single time.

i haven't even been able to have a race yet due to this issue, :(
 
:( that sucks ... ok this may be a long long long shot but try this ...

At the stuck loading screen, hit "home" to open GFWL(games for windows live) profile screen and then backspace GFWL closes and the game continues to load. (someone on official forums said this worked for them, may work for you to.)

Also do you have a 6 core cpu ? I know the game doesn't support those, I guess I should have asked that at the beginning. If you do then don't panic, you can change a config file to run the game with 2/4 cores.

pressing home key doesn't nothing.

yes i have a 6 core cpu. i will try setting it to 4 cores in to config file.

Hmm, I dont play games, but I do like F1.

So I tried this out before purchasing it, and its a major disappointment once you start seeing the cracks..

It seems brilliant at first, but the more you play the more its blatantly obvious the AI is fake.

Fake AI in an F1 simulation? No thanks!

Enabling DX11 just makes it jerky and adds no graphical improvement whatsoever.

When looking at the car from any of the camera angles, all the logos and stuff have jagged edges..

In short, ITS RUBBISH!!!

Im so glad I didnt waste my money on this turd. Shame that lots of other mugs have.

It couldnt be more obvious that it was a rush job to get the cash in the bank, with major things like fake AI papering over a shockingly bad game.

As for the Dirt2 drivers in one of the data files.... thats say it all doesnt it?!!
