I'm still well off the pace at aus, I learnt the track during a wet race in a bad car (Lotus) so I'm over cautious on nearly every corner. Will check my actual times later though

Time trial. Monaco 1:13.368... is that good? Took ages to get that time though.

Good time but depends what assists you were using :) and controller?

Fastest I have managed is 1:17 in Mclaren (mid/avg setup) with Logitech DFP (no abs, no traction control, auto gears and lines on corners only).

Starting to find the single player.....frustrating. Too many needless penalties and punctures, as well as no real idea how far in front or behind anyone is.

At least multiplayer is a lot more bearable, though getting on a server is a PITA.

Ok so I'm racing at Singapore now and so far my best contract offer has been from Torro Rosso, currently 4th in the WDC standings but there's only a few points in it between me and 1st place (Alonso :@)

My game is set up as 7 seasons so I started with Lotus, how far have people jumped up in terms of team quality for their second season?

This is one reason i loaded up the 40 flashback mod someone did, gets around being rammed in the back and getting a 10 second penalty, at least i can go back and correct it.

Logitech Momo racing wheel (red one).

Mclaren, High/avg setup, but tweaked to have more downforce, weight up front (80/20), brake on hard, and small discs (very easy to lock, but worth the risk on banzai laps)... Basically i made the front very pointy, and kept the rear in-line with very quick corrections and the gas. Some of my laps i was flat out through Tabac! However the bump in the middle made it almost impossible to do this. Out of 25laps, only about 30-40% got timed due to voiding laps lol. No way could i race like that.

No aids, except the lines, not that i need it at monaco, ive just left it on for when i do other tracks that i dont know yet.

anyone still playing this :P

i liked how those of us that pummeled the game with "negative" comments got flogged for it near the start of the thread :P

I am not playing it again untill they do a major update.
And I won't be buying CM games ever again even though I got F1 dead cheap.

Not too impressed with this game

Damage is pathetic , the n 64 version was better, you don't get to see split times very easily, ie light font etc, the penalties are stupid, and is it just me or when u have a short race the tyres still just last as long as they would in a long one :/

for my purposes, the game is perfect, I have done a few 20% races at suzuka and the pit stops etc have all turned out fine and I've had a few tight battles.

Admittedly I'm not the most dedicated sim racer there is and I don't bother with career mode, never seen the point to that sort of thing. I just like to drive a track thats next on the schedule.

In the closed season it will probably be a few classic tracks. Monza, Spa, Silverstone and Monaco.

Also the gf is just playing, why when there was a car pile up did she just go straight through it?
