bear in mind it suggests that consoles will be running at a capped 30fps presumably at 1280x720 with no AA and with lower detail textures and a reduced draw distance.........

If it's a constant 40+ with everything on high or ultra at 1920, I'll be happy. Thing is racing games tend to need quite a bit of AA and AF to look good and that may hammer performance

Hm, still don't think it looks that brilliant to warrant that sort of performance.

If it is a spectacular game and those performance figures are correct then it may be time to look into the ATI 6 series when it comes out :p stupid upgrading :(

Hoping that my overclocked GTX 275 will pull through on this one!

True, but many console owners play on a HDTV, maybe average 32" - 42" and they tend to sit a good few feet away from the screen...

PC gamers tend to sit with their face almost hugging the monitor, and its so easy to see jaggies etc when so close.

I was playing the Fifa 11 demo yesterday evening on PS3 and whilst I sit a few few feet away from my 42" plasma, the game looked smooth as hell. Until I walked up to the screen, and man, its a whole mess but from a distance it looks fantastic..

30fps at 1280 x 720 with limited AA for a games console for a gamer sat several feet away from a modest sized HD TV isn't bad, and very good.

A PC user at that res and hardly any AA on a 22" 1080 flat panel will really see a difference when played at 1920 x 1080 with 4xAA sitting only a few cm away from the screen...

As such, the PC needs the extra AA and fps etc, whereas the console due to distance from the screen, its not going to be as noticable.

And, the PS3 etc is using something like 4 year old tech when compared to a PC GPU, which will be on average 1 - 2 years old for most..

I mean, a ATI 5870 or a 470 etc is hugely more powerful then the GPU in the PS3...

Probably being picky, but the shadows circled here tend to suggest some kind of fairly rough SSAO in DX11. Sure they add depth to the screen, but if they flicker badly as this screen suggests they might, they will be annoying.

I am not Codies biggest fan but Kudos to them for pulling their finger out and arranging the Steam pre-load.

Much appreciated.

not great reading for GTX260 users. 33fps at 1680x1050 in DX9. And that's on a 4GHz i7 as well!!

Well we all know games are mainly limited to the gpu not the overall system, specially with a GTX260. A GTX260 is only double the speed of my 3870, so of course f1 2010 will run a tad slow.

not really, as posted quad core cpu's bench 50% higher than dual core so it's a mixture of GPU and CPU here. A 260 is a decent card and hence I was surprised to see it getting a low fps.

A GTX460 is double the speed of a GTX240, and thats nowhere near the speed of the 5870 or 5970

I dont think the gfx are much special anyway.

if you have time to study the graphics you aren't driving fast enough :p

Looks like my trusty [email protected] with my 4890 just won't cut it with this title, it runs dirt 2 like dirt off a shovel so F1 2010 must be taking a quantum leap in the graphics department :D. Pity there's no demo as I would really like to see if my rig can handle this.

I,m sure it will run fine... A few options might need tweaking, but i,m sure it will run fine.

What motherboard are you using? my E4300 will goto 2.7ghz on stock volts but anything over that refuses to be stable no mater how much voltage i give it.

And to keep it slightly on topic, my G25 just crapped itself, and no money to buy a replacement yay!

I am thinking of buying this on Steam, I am a new user to steam having got a free mafia 2 voucher & am quite impressed, no scratched discs anymore. Anyway will my rig run it well, q6600 @3ghz 8gb ddr2 ocz reaper & an asus gtx 470. The reason I ask is I am new to this overclocking stuff & just done my cpu to 3ghz from 2.4 ghz using the Asus AI suite, will it be enough?. I hope so, as I have been waiting for this game for a long time like many others have too.
