It's not a Steam game. It's being sold in Steam but so are most other games. Multiplayer goes through GFWL so the multiplayer side of the game is pretty much good as dead before release even.Well, that's my opinion anyway :(

Still lots of people playing Dirt 2 online - that has been around a while now. Will certainly be enough players until 2011.

My only hope is that they fix the pit lane bug, and soon!
 
I've heard the pit bug only occurs when you play 50% or less track distance (Personally, I'll be playing full race distance)

I've also heard that one way to get around the bug for now is to just pit one or two laps ahead of when your race engineers ask you to pit - that way you'll be the only one in the pits at the time.

There are certainly ways around it. But there are also times when this isn't always possible e.g. if it suddenly rains heavy. It becomes even more of a problem at higher difficulties where every second will count. I am sure it will get fixed soon.

Ooo yeah I didn't think of that - I definitely agree, it needs to be fixed - Sounds like Codemasters are on the ball anyway, so I'm not too worried... yet :p
 
Found this interesting about gear changes and engine noise:

Yes, the change is slightly slower than expected for the top cars so you might say the majority are more like the HRT! Some of the scenarios that come with the replication of F1 cars pushes the physics engine into extreme territory. After all, the engine has been used with far slower cars. With accurate RBR shift speeds the car had a tendency to become ever so slightly unsettled in corners and we felt it was better to have the longer gear engage periods than to unsettle the car physically and visually. We'll iron that out in '11 which will also please madfiddler! (the audio lead).

I don't think we have the downshifts sounding right for 2010, no. However, this is so closely linked to the physics, there wasn't a great deal we could do. Should be big improvements on how gear changes sound (up and down) in 2011.

In terms of engine sound, we have slightly different sounds for engine manufacturers. Again, gear changes follow the physics, not the engine manufacturer.

whats the going rate for 2nd hand G25's ?
im about to win one on the bay ( i hope )

they appear to of shot up in price as i sold mine in march for 130

I think a lad sold one on mm for about £100 but the thread was removed due to something so....but saying this i could be wrong.

Edit: I still have a old microsoft wheel with mega force feed back if setup incorrectly in gp4 it will break your wrists :D

A couple of people have recently for that price. That thread was closed because he was essentially running an auction via email and eventually sold it to someone who didn't even post in the thread. Not cool.
