think ill be dusting off the old, and barely used, g25 for this one, unlike grid/dirt/dirt2 using a pad for this would feel like something was missing by the looks of it

Surely the G27 is superior to the G25.
It would make no sense to bring out a new model to replace an inferior model.

One thing I don't like is paying for the extra (clutch) pedal and the gear stick. Paddles behind the wheels are the fastest way of changing gear.

I have a very old streering wheel, but I think it only works on Windows XP. I may have to dual boot Win XP, so that I can use my older Logitech steering wheel.

G27 has a few extra buttons on the wheel and shift leds on the wheel, but it doesn't have a sequential mode on the shifter like the G25 does. For my league racing in tin tops sequential shifter is a must so for me the G25 is the superior wheel.

the more i learn about this game the more it seems aparent they have left stuff out/rushed stuff in and once its done its done wether theres blatant flaws or not because they are already talking about 2011 for september next year :S

What do you mean by sequential shifter?

Are you referring to the gear change paddles behind the steering wheel or am I missing something?

The shifter on the G25 has 2 modes, H pattern and Sequential mode(push forward to shift down, pull back to shift up), the shifter on the G27 only has the H pattern mode. Both wheels have paddle shifters.

Yea I'm starting to worry about the performance side of things, was gonna be a day one purchase but might leave it till after the reviews. :/

That pit stop bug does seem game breaking. What are codemasters like with patches etc? Will we see an emergency patch on release or quickly after or will it be a case of fixed for F1 2011?

I dont want to wait a week before I can start a career :(

How quick are the changes compared to the paddle's?
there is no difference in time taken to shift, its just some people feel more comfortable with a sequential compared to paddles, i know i am.

I like to use whatever shifting mechanism the real life cars have, so if im driving a open wheeler or LMP car that has paddles i use paddles, if im driving a GT or Touring car that has sequential i use sequential, if im driving a road car with h pattern i like to use the h pattern.

whereas i know other people who prefer to use paddles for everything.

For me its just the action - just far more reassuring...

Back to the game - think Im gonna wait til it either goes cheap or 2011 version, feels like quite a few people have bought it due to the hype and that its the first F1 game to them for years - I dont have much faith in Codemasters so will see how this goes - FIFA 11 will take up most of my time anyway...

ps3ud0
