Apparently the 4 letter supermarket chain were sending out pre-orders today.
I like to have look left and look right mapped to the paddles aswell, they are far more useful for that than shiftingFor me its just the action - just far more reassuring...
ps3ud0
The shifter on the G25 has 2 modes, H pattern and Sequential mode(push forward to shift down, pull back to shift up), the shifter on the G27 only has the H pattern mode. Both wheels have paddle shifters.
I understand.
But tell me, why would you want to use the "shifter"? The paddle shifters behind the wheel are much faster. If I had no choice, I would use the shifter, however, given that the wheel is equipped with paddle shifters, its a no brainer.
there is no difference in time taken to shift, its just some people feel more comfortable with a sequential compared to paddles, i know i am.
I like to use whatever shifting mechanism the real life cars have, so if im driving a open wheeler or LMP car that has paddles i use paddles, if im driving a GT or Touring car that has sequential i use sequential, if im driving a road car with h pattern i like to use the h pattern.
whereas i know other people who prefer to use paddles for everything.
the more i learn about this game the more it seems aparent they have left stuff out/rushed stuff in and once its done its done wether theres blatant flaws or not because they are already talking about 2011 for september next year :S

It must make you wonder why all these wheel manufacturers bother to build gearsticks and the like in the first place.I understand.

No, paddle shift lolAgreed, F1 cars are automatics anyway aren't they?

Order changed from pre-order to processing . Hopefully be sent tomorrow.
Automatic transmission is illegal in F1 i'm sure.
I would call myself a hardcore sim racer, have been racing for 7 years with sim's, and must say i have been rather impressed by the way the cars seem to handle in VVV Gamer's videos in expert mode.Might have to grab my G25 out for this, only packed it away last week :grumble:.
Although I really prefer simulation, rfactor, LFS and the like and nothing arcade at all.
I assume this game does cater to those who like some sort of realism?
Do you guyes think a steering wheel is a must for this game and what do people recommend?
