Guys, the games unplayable.

You do a lap then it starts stuttering quite badly and just gets worsed the longer you carry on.

This is with HD5870 and CAT 10.9a, looks like ATI screwed up again.

No issues using an Nvidia card. Ati always seem to have driver issues.

So do i get the Thrustmaster FFB F430 or Logitech DFGT? Both are similar in price. Looking at reveiws, the Thrustmaster seems to be better, with better padel shifters, better pedals and a nicer wheel.

The pluses of the DFGT seem to be that it has 900 degrees of rotation ( compared to the F430's 270) , and a stick lever and full PS3 compatability

Does anyone have either wheel? I am not sure i like the sound of the paddles ( well, buttons) on the DFGT to be honest.

I put in about 5 hours last night and am thourouly enjoying the driving now that i have fixed my input lag, but im still struggling to get over 30fps, on High or Ultra Low my FPS is pretty much identical

Try switching v-sync off in-game and in CCC. Fixed the problem for me and you only get a little tearing in the menus.

Nothing to do with ATI. Many Nvidia users have the same problem. Has been an issue since Dirt 2 (just seems to be worse in F1 - at least for me!)

GTX 480, ultra IQ, 4xAA, 1680x1050, average 80-90 fps in game with 75% GPU usage, runs smooth. looks nowhere near as graphically intensive as Dirt 2 but performs worse, maybe the DX11 patch will help out.

Stupid question.... If I have preloaded this whilst my location is set to UK, does that mean I can't do the VPN trick to unlock it and play?

That's what I did and it worked fine, downloading 7Gb through a free VPN will be near impossible anyway :P

The one thing that I was worried about, turned out to be the big problem with the game. The AI. I mean, it's probably the best racing AI I've ever come across, it never gives up and doesn't have a problem with being aggressive. However, it's just ridiculously slow on certain tracks. I was by far the fastest in Bahrain with a Virgin Racing car. Change that to a McLaren or Red Bull, and I'm another 2-3 seconds faster.

A shame, really. Otherwise the game is excellent. The physics are solid, the handling is really good, I like the graphical style... Just need another two or three difficulty levels to get the AI going as well!
