The pit bug is a real pain. Can be left sitting there for 12 secs as other cars you've pasted just drive by.
Had to change my strategy opposite from the rest of the field to hold position. Very rarely locked brakes and wheel spin wasn't much of an issue.

Comparing to Ferrari Academy, this is more arcade like but good fun none the less. Hopefully it will be good online but with gfwl I have further doubts.

don'y you need to increase AI difficulty ? And not game difficulty?

Yeah, set difficulty to custom then you have the option to change the AI level to Legendary.

With the VPN, setting to offline mode until Friday is a no-brainer. GFWL should still be completely fine, accepted my CD-key no problem and multiplayer works fine, obviously not many people playing yet though.

I honestly doubt steam are intentionally doing it. The publisher picks the release date, and as we have found in the past, many high street retailers have thown there toys out the pram over steam. Can you imagen games reaction, for instance if steam got to release the game to the UK market 3 days before they could? Hell, some times it's a week of a difference or more, steam obviously have the game ready for distrbution, most of us having it pre loaded. Game and the rest of em would go skits.

Personally I love steam and its digital downloads all the way for me with PC games now so I'd love it if the game was released early and to hell with the rest of them. However, they will be tied to what the publisher says and the publisher no doubt will be bending over to the rest of the retailers.
 
Steam and Games for Windows Live are both good but not sure why they delayed the release in other regions outside the US though. Very odd.
 
It seems im not the only one stuck with 30fps no matter what.

I'm in the same boat except I have a Core 2 Quad Q6600. Dirt 2 ran at a steady 50-60 fps. This game doesn't run any higher than 30-35 fps. It doesn't matter how low I set the detail or resolution, it's always around 30 fps.

Someone on VirtualR reported that they also get 30 fps even on a Core i7 920, with dual Radeon 4870. That's just ridiculous, there's no way the CPU is a bottleneck here. Something must be going on with the game.

Closest I can get to my team mate is .200 of a second in quali. Getting the hang of when to put down the power and what the car will do. When I put the difficulty down I find it waaaayyy to easy though (and feel like I am cheating!).

Will just detect the game and let you play.
 
Ok i've managed to trick Steam into thinking i'm a fine, upstanding citizen of the great U.S.

Now can I just put steam in offline mode and leave it at that until Friday at 6pm?

I don't fancy staying connected to a proxy for a few days!

yes but you will need to connect to the VPN everytime to play, and the one you have chose ( if its in that link ) will expire after 3 hours and wont let yopu register again as its got ur ip address
 
well i must have done something wrong then, as mine is still set to not released till friday in steam, would only work when i connect to vpn

ive not connected to the VPN since i first done the trick last night, you need to set steam to offline mode while connected to the VPN then restart steam, then you can disconnect the vpn for good.
