My controller settings for the G25 if anyone is interested as i found the default settings horrible.

Steering Linearity i have reduced to 30% now for a bit more sensitivity around the center of the wheel.

Just been banging in some laps around spa, and loving it.

My GFWL ID is Nigh7Stalk3r if anyone wants to do some online sessions.

Also did he check the dpc latency while he was out driving on the track? as its fine for me in the menu's but once you hit the track it shoots up.

Please read my post above.

He installed MSI Afterburner and he noticed that the GPU usage was at 90% when in the pit lane but only 66% when on track.

This game is driving me up the wall - constant penalties for 'corner cutting'.

I am not very good at this game, this much is evident, but the constant penalties are driving me insane. I am not gaining time when I 'cut' corners. I'm not even cutting corners, most of the time I'm going wide or or slowing to 10mph in gravel.

I even managed to get 'disqualified' despite the 'cut' I took leading straight to a wall, which I collided with!

Surely you should only be penalised when you gain an advantage? Giving me a disqualificating from the race when I am reversing out of my crash back onto the track is stupid!

Just came here to post exactly the same thing.

Okay, well not exactly the same, but the whole penalty idea whenever you go slightly over a curb. It's even more stupid in qualifying when you go a little wide, suddenly the whole lap goes void... there's not really a huge margin for error if you're pushing for a really hot lap.

Weird mechanic to say the least...

GPU usage goes from 75% in the dry to 97% in the wet. I don't think the game is very well optimized at all, TBH Dirt 2 looks a lot better and performance was better with 99% GPU usage all the time. F1 in its current form looks like a bad console port.

Yeah, those voided laps when qualifying is VERY annoying. Also, a slight tap in the race nets you a 10 second penalty, even if you just run into the back of someone, and cause yourself more damage than the person you run into!

Just doing qualifying in Spa and went slightly onto the big curb on the way up through Eau Rouge and the lap was voided, epic gay ness!

My GTX 280 uses around 90% - 100%, depending on conditions, so it isn't as bad as some other games.

Been playing a bit and I'm finding it great fun :D

Cars are a lot easier to manage compared to most F1 mods out there but its still great fun + a challenge for the fastest lap etc.

Mr Latte wanted to see some eyefinity shots? Here is one for now (getting late and I want to sleep :p). I'll try post a video tomorrow at work of my lap at Monaco in the wet.

Im a big Live for speed, rfactor and GTR fan(I also played all the old F1 games back in the 90's). I'm loving this so far brilliant game with a great blend of realism vs fun.

For a first build/title in the series they have a great platform which to build on, thankfully they havent tried to do to much with this title and eneded up slacking all over the place, they have gone for a solid version one and boy have they nailed it.

No its not perfect(what game is?), damage model could be improved imo and the pit bug can **** you off. But thats about it.

Overall id say 8.5/9 out of 10:D

Your one of the lucky ones then, my GPU usage never goes above 60% with this game.

Im guessing your using vsync or the fps are capped somehow, cos I would think If the game isn't fps limited then the gpu will be at 100& usage, but if the game is fps limited, it wont max out gpu .

Anyway why the hell are you guys so worried about the performance of the game anyhow, Does it really matter how meny fps your getting or how hard your gpu works, just as long as its smooth to play.

I must be getting old because Im not intrested about fps anymore, just aslong as games run smoothly, Im happy:D

Soz if Ive offended any of you guys from this post

It seems to calculate whether you've got an advantage way too soon.

Imagine a bend - you take it too fast and too sharply and 'cut' the inside a bit. The second you rejoin the track it penalties you for 'gaining an advantage' even though you are at the wrong angle at far too high a speed and in reality are heading straight over the track for an accident on the other side :(

finally got it going and im very very impressed.

Tried it with a logitec DriveFX and it was total crap. The wheel is an xbox one and the foce feedback was just rubbish.

So i put the pad in and enjoyed it at a lot.

I havent got the skills to change gears that quick so im playing with all assists off bar automatic gears.

What i like to do is put the racing line on when in practice to get the track down and then turn it off for quali and race. Im a bit stuck on the difficulty on Serious the AI is brutal and probably 2 secpnds to quick for me (usng rosberg) and on hard i can put it on poll by half a sec (rosberg) but then i run away with the race.

Overall im loving it.

Should i get a proper PC wheel? Im never going to have the reactions for manual gears though

Game runs nice on an i5 760 and GTX 460 all settins on ultra bar the tress with 8 AA

Thats the problem, for a lot of us it's not smooth and FPS is very low 25-30, with the GPU sitting there doing bugger all.

Performance is one thing, but most complaints I've seen refer to the game not actually performing correctly rather than not being optimised.

Dirt 2 Ultra - 150fps minimum vs F1 2010 Ultra - 23fps solid. I actually found F1 2010 just about playable at 23fps, but when it's same devs/same engine, I find it difficult to ignore the fact that something isn't quite right there.

Don't use vsync and there is no cap, do a bit of research and you will find a number of games suffer from poor GPU usage.
