***Official Formula One 2011 Thread***

That was great racing tonight guys, very clean and fair. Shame i had to go early. Mike MDP that was tough one for you to take, you overtook me on last lap on the last straight and i think finishing line was just 200 meters away when you ran out fuel. Great ride by Andy he just disappeared from the start and was putting some very fast lap times straight away.

Will be on again tomorrow around about 20:30ish, just a quick question guys how you were managing your fuel, i think i did half of race on low revs just to make sure that i finish the race.

yeah really enjoyed racing tonight.went for 3 pitstops and it worked well.ran out of fuel at the end but rolled over the line. But it makes such a difference starting from 1st.

I went for 2 pitstops and i don't think it worked very well. I was loosing 4 to 5 seconds a lap to Mike in last 4 to 5 laps.

Yeah there was some great racing tonight, managed to record more of it and with upload some tomorrow night.

inam, That was rather annoying :p I ran high for a lap 2 laps before, wish I didn't now. The spin at the beginning was more harsh as I ended up 14 secs before Andy after the first lap which is what he won by in the end. I also ran a 2 stop that race and it was't that bad really.

Have some good races to upload including a great first race at Melbourne and Murry being nasty at Montreal :)

Edit: Here is the first race of the night we had Melbourne 10% http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnNhwusD46Y.

Will upload 50% Brazil tomorrow.

So THAT'S why I couldn't keep up! While I'm rolling around at normal speed you guys are fast-forwarding round the track going supersonic!

Good racing tonight ;p

Hi guys, just got this game and spent all of last night just trying to get the wheel settings sorted, as you do!

Has anyone got any tips for what DF Pro settings to use, both in-game and on the Logitech Profiler? Much searching online has not delivered on this.

Also, sorry to ask but to save me wading through a massive thread, what servers are you guys using when you race online? Can anyone join or is it a fixed season?

Cheers!

Hi HummuH1, in terms of servers, unfortunately it doesn't work like that. People just host a game and you join. Us on OCUK usually play from 8pm or so most nights, so don't worry, when we're playing we'll let you know in this thread and you can join when we add you as a friend on GFWL. We also use Mumble for voice chat, details of which I'll post a bit later today for you ;)

As for the DF Pro settings, no idea as I'm on a pad. Best bet is to checkout these two forums -

http://community.codemasters.com/forum/ or more specifically http://community.codemasters.com/fo...0/471747-community-wheel-settings-thread.html

You'll definately get the settings you want if you put a little time into checking those forums.

Top man, cheers for that. Look forward to getting on-line with you all at some point.

You're so right on the wheel. On the whole it's fine, it's just the spring strength seems a bit heavy, meaning you have to put quite and effort into simple steering. Will do some more searching to see what I can come up with.

Try putting the damper at 0 and enable the centre springing and then put that at 0 in the global profiler. Also over ride the setting so that it is a steering wheel in-game and then adjust the wheel weight and force feedback settings in time trial while you are practising or something.

When I had my DFP I find these settings worked best :

Logitech Profiler :

100%
0%
0%

Tick centring and put it to 0%

240 Degrees lock

tick allow game to adjust settings.

In game :

Steering Deadzone : 0
Steering Saturation : 10
Linearity : 50

rest is at 0 :)

Then

Environmental Effect : 50
Force feedback strength : 70
Wheel weight : 50

Then of course you can adjust it a little to your liking :)

The netcode on the game is pretty bloody horrible ain't it. F1 2010 wasn't perfect, but it was miles ahead of this. 60% or so of my online games involves a 4-5 second period of incredibly severe stuttering lag, during which time I have no choice but to lift off and lose buckets of time.

Some guy did a comparison between 10 and 11 showing the difference in upload bandwith being used during online. I think 10 was 15kb/s, 11 is more like 30kb/s...

Yeah, it is. It's a disgrace. That then may be what my problem is. I'm on fixed 2Mb, but I have my upload somewhat capped to 20kb. 30 is it's max I think... 40 for ADSL max right? but if it's always running at 30, the download rate gets bottlenecked something rotten. However, thats no excuse for this game. Other games I've never had problems with lag etc all these years but if anything... it's proven how bad Codemasters is at coding, disconnecting etc. Look at all the poor bugs as you know thats not even connection related.

It really cheeses me off how one second/minute whatever, you could be among other cars, or in a corner, on the straight... bam white bar pops up connection lost. Lost count the amount of DNF's I've had because of it.

Can we do Catalunya, or for the fun of it monte carlo :p

Edit: Anman the rules are follow real f1 rules at least on safety and do not use 1/1/11/11 for your suspension as it's a bug that hasn't been fixed.
