***Official Formula One 2012 Thread***

My biggest issue at the moment is that the AI seems to have grip that I don't. Much prefer playing Borderlands at the moment - going to wait and see what they do with patches on this one (plus my save is corrupt anyway :rolleyes:).
 
Just completed champions mode on legend . could have kept doing the challenges , had me hooked! They are one of the best parts of the 2012 for sure!

Just can't get over how good the handling is now , great game so far!
 
I don't dare play career I case my save cocks up :(

Had a quick race at Monza from the back of the grid, ended up getting a penalty for some dude hitting me then I span out on the next straight and clean wiped out my team mates car :p
 
Remember the replay file bug? that you had to make read only, 0kb for the fix. When it reached 2GB and your fps just dives with jerky pauses every 3 seconds or so... has anyone encountered it? some are reporting it on Codemasters forums.
 
@VF have you actually bought the game? if yes then what are your thoughts on handling?

Nope, first title in the series where I haven't encountered it.
 
What a track Austin is as well! Very fast and flowing just fantastic . Can basically go flat out through the first few corners, when you link them perfectly it just feel great.

Must get my self online at some point , just getting stuck into getting my gold medals on all the time attacks ATM haha .

Traffic, are you suing a wheel or controller? If its a wheel which one are you using and what in-game settings do you use?

I've been tweaking mine and I'm pretty close to getting a better feeling for the car but I really struggle on 1-2 corners on certain tracks getting the car to turn in making me stupidly late on getting back on the power.

I have not had nay problems since disabling the Steam cloud function.

Just received my Thrustmaster F430 wheel and it's superb such a difference over the pad. Really nice wheel.

I'm really interested in this bug. Are many people having this? I stopped playing F1 2010 for this exact reason and I'd rather not shell out for this if it's got the same bug.

Yeah but I went the PS3 route since it was £29. As it's never had any of the problems with corrupt saves for the past 3 games. If they patch the corrupt saves for the PC version, I'll buy it. I had too much frustration with 2010 and 2011 bugs on the PC.

As for the handling, I liked it from what I experienced on the demo. My copy has just arrived so I'll get into it this evening. I tried going back to 2011 after spending so much time with the demo, I could not get back into 2011. It felt weird and nasty. As if I had no feel through the wheel.

I'm a little curious about the PS3 copy, says on the back not for sale in the uk. Yet it has the region 2 logo. O_o

Did a race last night which was really good. I am really liking the way the car drives, the new weather makes things very unpredictable at the moment and the graphics are stunning this year.

There are a few bad points though for online, just as no online practice sessions and you cant save a setup online after you go out of the pits, and they got rid of grid order and reverse grid order which was nice to doing restarts if people got DCed during qualifying, oh and you can't invite people after the session has started. However I am really enjoying it.


Here are my highlights. I will let you know though, we were on TS and since this was a practice race there is a fair bit of speaking involved.
