***Official Formula One 2012 Thread***

How fitting, Mike. Suchanicedude.

Ha, yeah. Although that was probably my fault anyway for going in to quick and not anticipating some actions in the S curves as some of the drivers had done very little practice and myself no more than an hour. It did make for a very exciting though :). All these drivers are very clean but when it comes to our first race on a new game it is expected really.

Are people doing an OcUk group like last time or is that not happening, some fun races last year in the evenings.

Heard you've got a lot better Mike, even though you were pretty much already the best of the bunch :p

Has the wing levels gone back to the 2010 settings, where everything more or less has to be 1/1, 1/2? Codemasters really makes up weird physics.

Ok so it is sort of annoying me now. In Career, i have it on the one below maximum difficulty and in qualifying this is great because in the Force India i am managing to get 8-10th. Great i thought.

However, in the race, you seem to have to put in qualy laps the whole way round to keep up  To be honest though, i still end up in the points because i just ge a train of cars behind me every race and they never overtake except for on the DRS zones....

:(

there is a quick fix for not being able to save

It took me a few tries but i got it to work for me

1 Select Multiplayer -> Split Screen -> Press Start on a second controller / keyboard -> P1: Select any team & driver -> P2: Select any team & driver -> Any Race Settings -> Any track.

2 Once on track P1 pause and select Options -> Driving Controls and change Control Profile to another option and then back again. Exit back out of the Pause menu.

3 P2 pause and select Options -> Driving Controls and change Control Profile to another option and then back again. Back out to Pause Options, select Quit To Main Menu -> Yes.

4 You should now be able to save again.

this is from codies and they have said on the forums this is top of their agenda to fix asap

Patch news

Further to your feedback, we’re pleased to inform you of the following with regards to patch updates for F1 2012.

Since Steam allows us to apply updates/patches very quickly, within the next day or so we’ll be releasing a patch for the PC version of the game that addresses the following issues:

Drivers should no longer have collisions with “invisible walls”
Fixed the desynchronised session of results which could occasionally lead to race result errors
Closed a small loophole which allowed erroneous times to posted to RaceNet
General RaceNet data upload stability improvements

This will be followed later this week by a further patch for PC which will address a large number of issues including the auto-save bug that are being tested and verified now. Details of these fixes will follow once this testing phase has been completed.

This same patch is also being tested and verified for both Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, however since these versions require additional submission and authorisation from both Microsoft and Sony the release date for these will follow a little later than the PC version.

In the meantime, please note that we are still collecting feedback via our Technical Assistance forums and do encourage you to post your issues there being sure to include as much information as possible.

To discuss this update please visit this topic.

Thanks for your continued feedback!

Well finally fixed the save bug thanks to the heads up by Pandion :)

Completed Malaysia, finished 6th in the Torro Rosso which I was pretty happy with. China next, wonder if I will manage to find more pace there.

Is it me or is there a massive gap between Intermediate and Pro difficulty?

I was having trouble keeping up in pro, just couldn't get near the times of most drivers (not my fault I suck!), but on Intermediate I'm qualifying about 6th in a HRT and getting to 2nd place within a lap :(
