That must be annoying as hell after 20 or so laps. Is that a bug that always happens, or just sometimes?

Have to admit I am very much enjoying this. Frustrating that the AI in a race isn't affected by cold tyres or fuel load, but I am enjoying the added challenge :)

I am not sure if this happens all the time, i have reported the issue on CM technical forums though.

Hopefully it is something they fix. At least this time they are supporting the game well.

Been fairly surprised by the level of support so far.. 4 patches is a record for codemasters..

But then, game shouldn't have to need as many patches but on the other hand, least they've fixed faults this time around..

Should go down well, has with me.. epic F1 game IMO best codemasters F1 game to date..

I know the games not perfect, but all the same i'm having a lot of fun, mostly online, and there are quite a few mods available that bring the alive, for me anyway.
I'm not the biggest fan of the modern(boring) tracks, but its still fun nonetheless, and as has been stated,no GFWL,that has to be a winner.

Which is good in a way, but also means codemasters are bascially using the PC as a test platform, bascially we could be beta testing their sodding patches...

Not such a bad thing I guess but does mean a patch they release breaks something else...

However, ditching GFWL is the best move codemasters could have done, hope many others ditch the system soon as well...

You have a choice. Community support, or wait for months before the patch can go to certification, which is also VERY expensive (think, £50K). So grats to Valve for not ****ing about with that stuff and letting developers get on with it.

What wheel are you using JHeaton? Few tips that helped me getting used to the new handling model in 2012:

- Try and stick as close as possible to the racing line
- Take it slow on entry and always try to hit the apex
- As there is no tyre scaling tyres might take a lap or two extra to fully heat up so go a bit easy for the first/second lap
- Don't try to trail break or power out of corners as much as you used to in previous F1 games, coasting is key.
- My wheel settings http://www.maxisdomain.co.uk/news/23-roknewsrotator/207-f1-2012-logitech-g27-settings (I've now changed them slightly to add more saturation).

Obviously not getting the message :p

This has quickly become my favourite Codies racing game - now that I have gotten to grips with the handling model I am challenging for pole and the win on most circuits, but not by any kind of silly margin like in 10 and 11. The handling really is superb - Spa really is thrilling now.

Agreed, I just love how competetive the computer cars are now. Doing a quick race the other day on 25% race distance pushing the car to its limits and was only 5 seconds ahead of the guy behind when on the last lap I made a mistake and it cost me first place, dam that Lewis Hamilton lol. ;)

I chaps.

Thinking of downloading this later.

I've only got keyboard and mouse. Is this going to spoil the game for me at all or do i really need to invest in wheel or pad?

Speaking of which, is the 360 pad any good with this game?

Thanks

Really not all that interested in spending to many pennies on a wheel at the moment.

So i presume a 360 pad is an improvement on keyboard?

The game is pretty good with a 360 controller and some people might even prefer it, I know some people play it with a keyboard but I have no idea how without any analog control :p

360 would be a good investment in the long run for other racing games and odd PC games that benefit from using a controller :)
