***Official GCSE Results Thread***

No, it's below what I expected. Far below what I expected. I'm gutted

I have been in the possition of being very close to what I ideally wanted before and it isn't great, so on that level I do sympathise. However, the reality is that relatively few people will have achieved what you have and it is a very impressive set of grades that will look great on any application.

"13 GCSEs - grades A*-A"

Sounds brilliant. Go and celebrate :)

Just make sure you work your ass off in a levels regardless of gcse results. I got a mixture of As and Bs without putting effort in at gcse only to carry on not working and getting 3 Ds at a level :D

Do you guys even know how many things I broke when I only got 3A*s and 7As? I flipped out for a week.

It does make a difference. Some Universities judge an individual on the ratio of A*s they get at GCSE.

And I keep telling myself that I should have tried harder these past 4 years.

But hey no rest for the wicked, gotta keep moving on, even if you find yourself in a bit of a rut or somewhat disappointed, that's a message to all you younguns getting your GCSE results :P

I suggest we lock this thread before other 16 year olds come in and see anant disappointed at his results, thereby making them feel worse. :p

Considering I didn't get a single A* and got offers from all 6 redbrick universities I applied to, I personally find that quite hard to believe. Then again, I did go to an utterly bum school.

Got A in additional Maths and A*/100 UMS in all the B2/C2/P2 modules.

Quite happy, considering I lost at least 4 marks in the biology test just because I didn't read a question carefully...

And my maths teacher told me I got the highest Add. Maths mark in the school, taking it a year earlier than everyone else.

Good luck to anyone who hasn't got their results left.

Now it's time for the real GCSE year...
