Updated opening post with overclocking guide.

This was only a quick guide, so will be adding more later. Feel free to contribute here and I will add bits in :)

Just a suggestion, would it help others if a list of ram thats compatible (thus far) with the DS3 be listed too?

Nice overclocking guide btw

Quick Question: Do these boards support older PenD chips at all ? Not seen them listed on any spec sheets I've seen.

I'm thinking of getting a 6300 and clocking the pants off it, like I have done with my 805, but I can't afford the expense of chip and board off the bat. If I can get the board first, and drop in the chip later, that would be awesome.

Failing that, I might just have to sink £150 into a new video card...

I'm a little bit of out the scene so I have a simple question. Much like the poster above I'm looking to save money, I have a P-D 3ghz and 2gb of DDR2 4200 already.

Can I run the memory below FSB speed? If so, how much? This is only very temp..

@Magsy - Your memory shouldn't be a problem at all, at 1:1 with no overclocking your already running at sync speeds for a Conroe. Your overclocking headroom maybe limited by memory, but I doubt it - my DDR2 plays really nice all the way upto DDR2-800 speeds and its only the VS stuff by Corsair.

Good idea. I'll look into that. I'm also going to add a OC results table too.

Duke, im a bit confused as to the other settings in the bois, i grasp the idea of the bois screen shot however. Do i have to keep the memory freq below 800 , that of my 6400 ram ?

Noticed something, dunno if this is known but it looks to me like if you set the pcie to auto freq it dosen't lock? 7800GT was running at PCIe 1x until i changed from auto to 105Mhz, does the same 1x if i try 100Mhz. I was getting 27k 3dmarks at 3Ghz 1x, same as with my 7600GT with 6400 at stock 2.13Ghz 16x! At 16x its back to a healthy 34k :)

DDR2 usually clocks well mate so you may well be able to push it beyond 800mhz, what Ram are you using?

Thats a strange one how do you know what PCIE speed your running at? i.e 1-16?

Nvidia control panel, in classic mode it says it. Set to auto with an overclocked bus this drops to 1x and it shows in peformance e.g 3Dmark.

Hey Duke.
First of all the link for the bios is linked back the this thread? Can't find it in your first post tho.
Also struggling with my rig and oc'ing. Followed your guide for the basics for this board but am finding getting above 320fsb a real bitch. +3v on the dims and set to 5,5,5,13 when i should be running at 4,4,4,13 on 1:1 ratio.
+1 on chipset (mch or something), any more and the nb heatsink gets so hot. System is 50 deg.
I have stock cooling atm with a ninja sat in it's box on the floor. I think i need to fit active cooling to the nb but worried it won't fit if i fit the BIG NINJA. Cpu under load is 51 deg.
Any thoughts apperciated.

Regards

Jobe

Hi there,

I've changed the link for the bios, my mistake.

What VCore voltage are you running?
