**Official Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Discussion Thread**

np, let us know how you get on.

tbh I have no idea if the drivers are any different or better than sticking with the MS ones but can't see they'd be any worse. I just prefer using as many manufacturer drivers as possible.

Tried it and learnt something new so thanks. Made no difference though and still don't have the accelerate tab on IRST.

:(

Do you at least see more Intel devices and drivers in device manager now?

Other than the drivers and setting the Intel SATA controller to RAID there shouldn't be anything else that needs doing iirc.

I have two SSDs and a HDD on mine, one SSD with the o/s and one as the cache for the HDD where games and apps go.

I'm thinking of buying one of these mainboards or the Asus Sabertooth Z77 to run a 3770k.. Can't decide which to go for lol

Is this board stable? I threw in a Google search and found a lot of people getting freezes in windows and even in the bios - What's the crack?

not much, but up4 has much better power phases and vrm's better quality

the ud5 does have a better sound chip but tbh both boards are very capable at ocing

you have two thunderbolt ports on the up4 if you need them,10gb transfer for hard drives and you can connect multiple monitors to them

I'm kind of swaying towards the ud5h now. I'll be running eyefinity with a 7970 so I'm assuming all 3 monitors will connect to that?

Just got this board from OC'ers its a ncie board im only having one issue im on bios f14, and on some games im running about then my screen will go black for a second then reapear anyone else have this issue?

That sounds like a gfx problem over mainboard - I could be wrong though.

I just bought one of these mainboards myself today

loved this board since got a while back, but last 4-5 days mega problem has crept in.
put pc on in the morning, boots up to windows fine, then say after 2-3 mins, Pc shuts shuts itself off. wont start from power button. turn main power off, turn on pc to drain power. switch on. all works fine pc will stay on all day.
have ran pc with just bare components.
But still does it, checked all wires, connections all seem fine.
tryed 2 beta bios, back on f14 the now
ran memtest__ all fine
20 runs of intel burst on max__ all fine
looped 3d mark 1hr+ __ all fine
Does it as well with no O/C.
seems it down to mobo or psu. but with above test. kinda putting blame on mobo.
any 1 had this kinda problem or any idea what maybe cause this ?
cheers :)

I've not seen or think read about anything like that happening.

I had no problems with it at all with f14. All hardware recognised on install except one item off the MB but right clicking it in device manager and "Update Driver" fixed that. If you have SSD run the Windows Experience Index after you installed and it will recognise you have an SSD and set options (e.g. defrag to Trim) for that drive.

I did have problems when running one of the f15 bios's. Windows 8 wouldn't recognise the IGPU only the PCIE one. Going back to f14 fixed this.

no problems running windows 8 on a z77x up4 th,different board I know but basically the same regarding drivers ect

ud5 & widows 8 here, 15r beta bios has little handy windows 8 feature in it, turn on to get things going little faster. really liking 15r..

Thanks guys. My searches didnt find any board specific issues either so is a green light hardware wise. I have since had some time to play about with a win8 laptop for a while and its taken the wind out of sails a bit though. Il have to play with it a bit more. Some aspects of the UI make me wonder if it's worth the expense. It's no where near as bad as some made out but I already get on well with 7.
