***Official Gigabyte Z77X-UP4 TH, Z77X-UP5 TH and Z77X-UP7 discussion thread***

Hi guys,

I am seriously considering buying the UP4 TH; however, I am little concerned about the height of the heat sinks that surround the CPU socket.

I have bought a Thermalright Archon SB-E and due its’ 155mm length, it will overhang / foul the very top heat sink.

Could a UP4 TH or a UP5 TH owner quickly measure the height height of the top two heat sinks that surround the CPU socket?

Any reply would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

The UP5 is now fitted and working. Couple of questions.

What's the deal with having to press space while booting? If I don't it takes forever.

I've not seen this, mine has just booted (once the correct boot order is set in the BIOS)

Also I don't get any info in the boot loader just the BIOS logo?

Same as me, a quick glimpse of the Ultra durable logo and then its straight to the windows splash screen.

I don't know if you have updated the BIOS, but they have change the logo screen to a more classy picture in the last two beta BIOS I used.

Hm, mine is taking quite a long time over the logo'd screen... Feels longer than a normal POST... Any ideas?

Ummm, if you have any other USB devices connected apart from the usual keyboard/mouse then try removing them.

In the BIOS is it set to look straight at you boot drive first?

And of course you can try a newer BIOS if yours is older.

I have 4 disks but I have set the boot order just to look at the first. I have tried the F11 and the Beta, same issue.

Its almost like there is a prompt off screen ( Boot disk menu? ) that its waiting for. Very strange.

That is strange as I remember my first initial impressions of the board was that it did boot quickly indeed.

Out of interest (actually because I have seen something odd with a different copy of windows I acquired and used on the same board)

Can you paste up a screen of all the boot devices listed in the BIOS?

Anyone with the up5 found sometimes you had long post times when you see the gigabyte screen

Mine use to be really fast like 2 seconds and tonight it took about 10sec the only thing i did
was install a usb keyboard and before i used wireless keyboard

I change the usb port still the same issue so i reset the bios changed to another usb port
and back to super quick post times

do you think it was the keyboard or just some bug

or

could it be this rapid quick start technology
