***Official Gigabyte Z77X-UP4 TH, Z77X-UP5 TH and Z77X-UP7 discussion thread***

Anyone with the up5 found sometimes you had long post times when you see the gigabyte screen

Mine use to be really fast like 2 seconds and tonight it took about 10sec the only thing i did
was install a usb keyboard and before i used wireless keyboard

I change the usb port still the same issue so i reset the bios changed to another usb port
and back to super quick post times

do you think it was the keyboard or just some bug

or

could it be this rapid quick start technology

Yes this is exactly the prob I've had. My keyboard is PS2 though , but mouse has always been in the USB port with the mouse/keyboard stickers. Will try our solution and see what happens.

if your running sam greens then try 2133mhz 9-11-11-21-1t 96 trfc timings and 1.55v dram voltage, should run fine

RAM@2400Mhz.

Didn't think the IMC would manage it.

hey mate that program did you need to pay for it got the same i think it says trial version

up5th here anyone else get the issue when you start up windows all loads fine
network seems to be ****ed

says its all connected but can't browse anywhere
a few restarts for it to work in the end any ideas

also one of my drives are clicking like crazy could be the psu
corsair ax850

btw what is the main bios and backup bios on the motherboard switch left for main bios?

also which of these do i install not got a raid setup

Marvell SATA Controller Driver

Intel SATA Preinstall driver
(For AHCI / RAID Mode)

i installed Marvell SATA Controller Driver and when starting up in windows it flashed first to that saying checking stuff about raid

not sure whats going on here use to be idel at 1.6ghz when cpu was not active now its max 3.9ghz all the time on high performance power settings

if i switch to balanced power goes down to 1.6ghz for a few seconds and jump to 2/3/
ghz

its there a way i can have it set to high performance and still down clock

Because if i have it on balanced and im doing encoding its not staying at 3.9ghz

im sure it use to be 3.7ghz max?

not matter what i try the cpu still at 3.9ghz not sure whats happened use to idel at 1.6ghz
which high performance power option

look in easytune/cpu

sometimes cpu-z doesnt show idle clocks, and makesure you select balanced in windows power saving profiles

going down to 1.6 not sticking tho plus when encoding the cpu does not hit max it drops and backup again

so you can not set high performance as the power option and still have the cpu down clocking?

When looking at my drive activity the ssd boot drive is constantly doing 1mb/sec

looks like its dropping the vcore when doing encoding which is not great and the cpu goes down with it

on high perf the cpu wont downlock

look in easytune to see the correct cpu speed fluctuation,cpu-z doesnt always show it correctly

set your turbo limits for each core to match your oc or peak cpu multi then it should jump to that if need be

Anyone else have the problem where their USB3 just stop working?
Z77X-UP4 TH Bios F9
3570K (not overclocked)
Tried different bios, even reset everything and re-installed windows7.

At the moment i left the power settings to auto should i set it to high perf
and balanced power settings in windows 7?

that setting should be fine on auto

its windows power power setting that should be on balanced for downloacking cpu and high performance to run full clocks all the time

ta well i set it to high
right well doing encoding the cpu still goes down on balanced power settings i check EZ and cpuz and saw it go down

Now when i set windows 7 power setting to high perf its constant 3.9

Can i not have it on high performance and still down clock at idel?

no im afraid, its one or the other, although on balanced it should rise to full 3.9ghz is cpu is stressed

stress the cpu in prime95 and it will go from idle to full load clocks while in balanced

yeah cheers prime95 cpu doesn't drop

wazz as I"m on 3.9ghz i left the cpu vcore on auto should i lower the vcore to get the best
temps i can get temps are fine tho

how much does cpu use at load? you could probably set cpu v to normal and undervolt the cpu in dvid -0.010v and retest add more ect -0.015 minus takes that amount off your load voltage

About 30 percent only drops for a few seconds and back again i think its normal

I left the cpu core to auto it has set it to 1.30v

is that a bit high for 3.9ghz?
