***Official Gigabyte Z77X-UP4 TH, Z77X-UP5 TH and Z77X-UP7 discussion thread***

you could probably get 3.9ghz on 1.03v? to do that try cpu v on normal, llc on low and -0.010 dvid

you might have to use a lower llc as it might add extra to whats being used in cpu voltage, just stress cpu and lower to get to 1.03v(or lower cpu load voltage than what auto is using)

if its not stable then id leave it on auto

wazza300 could you help me out on msn please?

This is so different to the asus board i was so use to it lol

yeah thats normal bloodzeed, its called vdroop there is a setting in your bios called LLC which counter acts vdroop as wazza has allready told you to use

yo wazz which LLC i see 2 LLC settings still getting drops in volts

Do i enable vdroop?

When i first installed this cpu i had default clocks 3.5ghz and when i used the cpu it would go up to 3.7ghz
now i have reset the motherboard to go back to them defaults but its not

As now when i use the cpu it shoots right up to 3.9ghz and If i had windows on high performance the cpu would be 3.9ghz at idel
how comes it not dropping down to like 3.5ghz and only shotting up to 3.9ghz when in high usage ?

Like it was when i first installed it

Sorry just trying to understand whats going on here.

droop is ok aslong as cpu is still stable

it should clock doen at idle if intel speedstep is enabled in bios and balanced power profile in windows

you can always load optimised defaults in the bios, and it will reset everything to stock settings

it will wipe any oc settings though so make a note before you do it

did thats not working no

i remember when i first booted this pc is was 3.5ghz at idel and when in used the cpu went to 3.7 i reset clear cmd on the motherboard no help
and it said 3.7 in the bios

would ram effect it?

just checked all at 39 39 38 37

but what i do not get is why when i have reset the board its no going back to how it was?

they are the default settings right? or did i some how change them positive when i first booted the pc was 3.7 at load

the turbo core limits set to 35? and the cpu multi to auto correct

or maybe the program i used at first to test the cpu used less cpu and went to a turbo speed of 3.7?

sometimes the bios settings stick or wont save, ive had that happen to me a few times and even loading optimised defaults wont fix it

to fix it i just reflashed the same bios version,i didnt clear the cmos, that might fix it also

f11 bios do you know the default settings? default settings shouldn't be 3.9 turbo?

what it was first installed

In my experience, just add offset voltage until its stable. Always run memtest to make sure the ram is stable. Samsung Green 9-11-11-21 TRFC 114 1.55-1.6V should be pretty much guaranteed at 2133MHz. I run them at 1.55V 9-10-11-21 96 or 114 can't remember which.

My CPU is 1.26-1.27V at load 4.5GHz which is offset +0.020V for 3D stability. Only EIST enabled for power saving, C3/C6 and C1 disabled.
