**Official Gigabyte Z87X-OC Discussion Thread**

Just installed this board, Quite impressed with it so far, Have a few niggles though;

The Intel I217-v LAN port will only connect at 100mb, Refuses to connect at 1GB.
The previous mobo had 1gb lan and worked fine at 1gb, I've not changed anything else cables/router wise.

The on-board double digit error code thingy permanently states AO when booted, Is this normal? Can I turn this off?

Cheers!

Yeah from gigabyte website, Ver 12.6.47.0 - 26/02/2013., Intel PROSet Ver; 18.3.72.0
I tried forcing 1.0gbps full duplex but once applied it acts like the port is empty until I put it back to auto(100mb).

Have you tried the latest driver? I've included it on the very 1st page of the forum tread, along with a few other updates.

Cheers Nelly,

Installed the LAN & PCH drivers above, Will still only connect at 100mb/full duplex.
I'm using Cat6 cable to a Sky white '2013' router that connected at 1gb using my previous mobo (p8p67 pro).

Sorted - well almost.

Detects and boots fine when out of the icy box so the problem lies with that!

Got the chip priming 32m at 4.6, highest temp is 45c

Do your selfs a favour guys and stick to F6 or X02 bios`s.
F7a and X04 have bugs.
EDIT : also this : Intel VGA Driver v15.28.18.64.3223 / 9.17.10.3223 *NEW* >> Click Here : its not even for 4th gen cpus lol, that driver is for 1st and 2nd gen cpu architecture ....

For anyone who doesn't know where to find the latest links, their is a good section on the tweaktown forums >> Latest Overclocking Programs, System Info, Benchmarking, & Stability Tools

Will add a link to the original thread, as it includes sections for Gigabyte specific downloads.

Will revert it back.

StonedPenguin, about your lan issue
this is a bios issue not a windows configuration issue. if you go into the bios and into the lan settings you will see 100/mb full duplex as the max setting.
We need a bios update to the LAN controller module to get 1GB to work in windows, without this there is no way or setting in windows that would enable 1gb ect ect as the bios does not support it.

Does anyone know how disable the feature that means you can turn the PC on by pressing any button on the keyboard?

Getting really annoying when I reach over the keyboard and accidentally touch a key (on a mechanical keyboard, which seems more sensitive).

I should mention that I've obviously got the BIOS setting disabled but that doesn't seem to do anything. On/Disabled/Keyboard98 all seem to do the same thing.

I'm running the F5 BIOS and would prefer not to have to upgrade as I've just gotten my OCs dialled in.

hi all...my first attempt to oc this board. I put multi to 44 and cpu volts to 1.216...not touched anything else....does it look ok to your guys...I will be quite happy with this oc if it is ok....is there anything else i should do

greenshot download

the ss was taken while running aida stability test hence the low temps....during intel burn test temps were lo 80's max

Smartfan is driving me a little mad, I'm trying to get the fan curves working as they should.

So far only the fans connected to the CPU-opt pin work as they should ( 2 GT's),

2 more GT's on SYSfan 1 - If I set a fixed rpm (say 60%) it doesn't respond, Just stays sat at about 40% rpm.
After a reboot it will turn sysfan1 OFF altogether so fans on my rads stop spinning once windows has loaded lol.

Then 1 4pin 140mm PWM on sysfan4 that does exactly the same as sysfan1

Another 120mm 3pin on sysfan2 does exactly the same as sysfan1 & 4.

Only CPU OPT works as it should without issues (to my curve in smart fan). The others when I set a fixed RPM, They all just sit at 40%, Then on rebooting they shutoff altogether (0rpm) once Windows has loaded until I open Smartfan and press reset.
When I set a custom fan curve on sysfan 1, 4 & 2 they all just stay at a permanent 40% rpm not responding to CPU temp changes like CPU-OPT does.

I tried putting the fans from sysfan1 onto CPU-fan pins and it did exactly the same. I would use the BIOS for fan control but prefer the precision of the curve :(

I'm using Easytune B13.0703.1

The force has more ports, for example dual LAN, more onboard SATA/USB - It also has a dedicated 16x GPU slot and support more lanes as well as having a wifi attachment.

Just curious, does the Gigabyte Z87X-OC bootup slowish?

I read because the way the board is configured for high BCLK clocking, it makes it boot up slower, compared to the UD3H, UD4H, UD5H etc?
