**Official Gigabyte Z87X-OC Discussion Thread**

3 days with no issues so far since removing Core Temp RC6, changing BIOS to F7 and upping GPU power by 20%. If I still haven't had any issues after a week I think I'll try overclocking again, the freezing at start-up was making it seem unstable before so hopefully I'll be able to get it stable at 4.5 GHz next week.

Thanks again for the suggestions V_R and wazza300 :).

Optimal fan headers

I've installed mine in a 330R case yesterday, now I'm not sure if I've used the best headers.

I have:-

Exhaust fan - into 6 (now realise you can't see or control this)
H105 - into CPU and CPU_OPT
Front case fan - into 4

Any suggestions?

So, it has been 11 days since the suggestions posted here got rid of the problems with my PC. Finally decided to try OC again, seems to be stable at 4.5 right now with max temp of 83 during stress test. Time for some games to see if it really is stable... :)

Good news - hope the gaming goes well, fingers crossed for you, and hopefully you can now just get on and enjoy your pc.

So far so good, played a bit of BF3 (campaign). Going to try a few different games tomorrow.
Still planning to upgrade/replace my graphics card but right now everything else seems fine :).

I've just bought this board but I'm having a problem it's when I shut the pc down it doesn't shut domn properly as fans are still going and is light up still and when I need to turn it on again I have to use the power button on the board to start it, can someone help me.

Are you running latest BIOS? Tried unplugging all Usb devices as it might be preventing the board from shutting down completely

Do you have your ignition button switched on at back of the board? I still have that problem and only way I can get it to shut down properly is I I have that button off. Usually I end up with 10 fans still spinning as well as water pump, temp sensors the full works going but still won't charge usb devices when its off even tho I'm pretty sure that's what the button is for

I've got bios f3 on the board I have that problem windows shuts down but the fans and the fan controller are still going also my lights are still light in the case.
Then when I power it up from the case power button I still have to use the power button on the board.
Please tell me it's not a borked board.

Reflash BIOS
Remove all unnecessary cables including panel headers Power led, Switch etc

Mine has done this before but not for hours on end mabey 15 mins it was a problem with the OS
