########Official GTA4 Performance thread########

You bought this game? Unlucky :p

Yeh, wish I hadn't! Thought I'd support them as I enjoyed the last ones.. So I support them and they rape me with jaggies, DRM, unnecessary signups, poor performance and bugs. :(

Shouldn't you be working anyway? :p

With that CPU I probably wouldn't bother either ('only' dual core and a small L2 cache).

FWIW I get about the same 3dmark score as you roadie (in your sig) - although my CPU scores are nearly 2x yours - and I don't consider the game to run very well.

Wish I could play native (1920 x 1200) but it's too choppy...better than i thought though, after reading the main thread.

How the hell do you force AA on this game. It looks terrible without it.

Ahh.. I'll try that when I get home ta! :)

Anythings got to be better than having my eyes assaulted by the jaggedness..

This is research for out of hours entertainment, an integral part of work :)

Try turning the blur on by pressing P, I found myself a lot less annoyed with jaggies with the blur enabled the consoles have on as default.

Yeah i found out you can turn the blur on as well, at first though it looks out of focus, but im getting used to it now, it looks better when i sit further back from the screen. :)

It's running nice and smooth for me.

How is your 280 handling it that well? I've got an overclocked version with a Quad at 3.2GHz and at lower settings than yours, I get 50FPS! :(
