########Official GTA4 Performance thread########

Ah, so it is me being dense - usually is ^^

Mind you, nvcpl doesn't recognise that I have it installed - presumably because it's a Steam download (?)

I have the Steam version and the 180.84 drivers, and there is a GTA IV profile in my nvidia control panel.

Sorry sharpygsxr, is it me guys or does that in-game screenshot look kinda woeful? :(

lol i think the game looks good, its not cutting edge but its def not ugly imo.

When you see the game in motion and the amount of stuff thats going on in any given scene i think the game looks good. And the gameplay for me makes up for any bugs or issues.

I wish it had maxed out my Q6600 but it didn't anywhere near. You apparently need a high end GPU as well as a quad.

Using four cores pretty well on my rig.

What is the CPU usage when you run the benchmark? If it's anywhere near 100% I'll be very surprised ;)

I was looking at the usage of the cores via rivatuner after running the game. At one point it was 96.68/68.75/76.56/76.56. Got a piccie of it.

I'll run the benchmark and see what it's like.

Can you view system usage graphs (like task manager) in rivatuner? I'm looking for a tool that can track usage stats as a graph for example!

Yeh and then some!

I have the four cores useage, temperature, graphics temp., and ram useage currently logged. Anything Rivatuner can log can be displayed in the chart.

Do you have a screenshot? :D and also I don't remember having such options in Riva, any guides/notes ?

I'd also be interested for you to lower your Q6600 overclock and run the benchmark with the same settings, to see if you get a lower result. If your system is like mine, you will get the same result but with simply a higher CPU usage.

I mean overclocking my quad literally didn't make 0.1fps difference in the benchmark.

The only way I can increase my framerate is by overclocking the graphics card, which results in a % fps increase roughly in line with the % overclock.
