about an hour left DL'ing from Steam then il find out if downloading/installing this today still needs the huge unpacking space that the pre-load did yesterday,
fingers crossed it doesnt, otherwise ive got to buy more storage space :/
 
Am I the only one who was blown away by the pouring rain, huge puddles from a big thunderstorm? Never seen weather that amazing in game before..

They do need to do something with the mission multiplayer loading though
 
What's the quickest way to get rid of the SP pre-order bonus money? I tried starting a new game but received it again :/
 
Loving this so far and it plays so sweetly on my rig...

Out of interest, where is my pre-order bonus? I think it was a load of in game cash or something :D
 
The pre-order bonus only applies to 1 of the 3 characters.
I don't really want mine either but not much I can do. Just invest the lot in shares (Phone>Internet>Money stuff) and it'll be tied up so you can't use it (until you sell)

Thanks mate! How does it even work? I've literally only just dropped my first car off and had a bit of a drive around, so it's early days :)
 
When people say they are running this fully maxed out, do they genuinely mean everything set to maximum or "on", including taking off the limiter and all the settings in the advanced graphics menu?

Just trying to gauge what to expect when I start playing it tomorrow. I have a 3770k at 4.5ghz and a gtx 980.

I know in some games there are certain settings that can kill performance on even the latest hardware.
 
Just got out of the car and couldn't work out why all of the colours looked completely different!.... Realised my character was wearing sunglasses:o :cool:

Edit- then I got even more confused when it wasn't doing it anymore because my character took them off in a cutscene!

^extended distance scaling is what killed performance for me, whatever that is.

I was running everything on max but then FPS tanked big time when I got to tree/grass areas so had to drop the MSAA and MSAA reflection, shadows. Smooth enough now but could do with lowering a few more settings, not sure which yet though....

And yes, if people thought watch dogs was amazing when it rained, you haven't seen anything yet! GTA 5 is ****ing amazing for rain/water effects.

I am finding myself much preferring 3rd person now, FPS is nice but 3rd person is just a lot easier + you see a lot more too.


BTW to the ocuk regulars asking me about my car, it is the Coil Voltic, I couldn't remember the exact name on ts so made something up that sounded similar, well sort of.... :p It certainly is a beast, I love how quiet it sounds, reminds me of the batmobile from batman begins especially when he goes into "stealth mode":

Can't complain for the price anyway, certainly a lot cheaper than most of the other cars that aren't much better.

I must say though, I really don't like this ranking system, all the really good/powerful items are only for the high rank players :( The players who always brought rank up when they were getting steam rolled in bf 4 would have a field day in this game :p
