***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Is anyone having problems launching the game since this week's update? It often crashes when the screen goes black/police sirens kick in. When you click OK, a window pops up with a retry button and sometimes it takes several attempts before it starts. I've always managed to get in game in the end but it's annoying. :p

I get this message in event viewer...

I had a bit of a nightmare getting LSPDFR to work properly after this weeks update but I'm unsure if it's a joint problem with the newest Ragehook which I happened to install at the same time. Game crashed at loading screen, then after I tried it again a few times it stopped crashing at the loading screen but seemed to just sit there and get stuck loading story mode. Eventually after fiddling about with Ragehook and a few of my plugins/addons for LSPDFR I got it to load up and play. However I'm still getting crashes fairly often.

After 2 weeks without broadband after switching from BT to Sky

ive got to play Redux again and it crashed out seems the new patch broke it :D

After a bit of reading round I got it working though and it looks way better than it did before, Redux must not have been working properly before.

Now it is working properly, is there anyway to disable the ridiculously fast car handling? Cant find anyone else asking for it but on my install the sports cars are all lightning quick.

*edit* Got it working by moving the handling.meta from the vanillla to redux.

Redux looks awesome but I'm concerned about b0rking my install up as I already run a ReShade preset as well as the LSPDFR mod with RageHook and a few additional plugins.

Is there any way to install Redux but be able to revert back if need be? I did read that they recommend a vanilla install before throwing Redux in there, which I have not got.

How have you got Redux working since the DLC?

Edit: got it working by copying the gameconfig.xml file from vanilla to redux. Also the handling.meta works a treat and is much better, cars aren't lightening fast now.

Has anyone seen the added effects of heat coming from the air vents in this tunnel? Driving through is incredible

I want to re-install this but I have an issue. I have the Social Club version and it doesn't work when I have my Windows documents folder pointing to my NAS. The only way I could get it to work last time was to point my Windows Doc's back to C/Users etc.

Anyone know a fix for this? I would like to get the Steam version but that's still £40.

There is some hidden content for Halloween (I'm guessing) hidden in the DLC that can be seen via the trainer, looks pretty cool and some decent vehicles

The Shotaro looks great and is really quick off the mark but the tron like gear are apparently 200k each, (rumour) so for all that and the bike its about 3+ million..... quite a bit for a bike

I'm a bit confused between VisualV and Redux.

I've been reading that Redux is a wannabe mod that has 'stolen' mods from other people and essentially copied VisualV. Apparently the author of Redux is the same guy who made Pinnacle of V and closed it down due to accusations of stealing content also.

Also, Redux needs 60gb!!!! of HDD space to install whilst VisualV only requires ~60MB.

Which mod is better and what justifies the massive HDD requirement for Redux, does it do a lot more than VisualV?

I went back to this with a few friends last night and it seems even buggier than release :S
Couldn't join friends as the game kept stalling at the load screen and when I finally did join there was just a load of hackers in the server.

It all depends on whether you think its worth the hard drive space. Plenty of vids out there that show off the mod.

This one showcases one of the more realistic looks, it isn't just a visual mod though, mechanics have been changed as well, again plenty of info about it online.
There is some gunfire at the end of that video which will explain better.

Managed to get Redux installed, very impressed. It totally changes the look of the game.
If you are experiencing crashes when launching the game with Redux installed it's probably caused by the latest Biker DLC that came out last week, however, if you follow these steps exactly, the game should work, it did for me. Big thanks to the person who found this work around solution.

After doing some googling on how to get this mod working, I finally got this mod to work for me with the Biker Update.

1. Reinstall your GTAV so you get a clean installation.

2. Follow the appropriate steps to install GTAV Redux including the Day 1 patch.

3. Go to your GTAV Directory/update/x64/dlcpacks/ copy the mpbiker folder and put that in to your mods folder.

4. Update your GTAV Script hook, the latest release was Oct 5, 2016 for version 1.0.877.1. You just have to copy and paste the dinput8.dll and ScriptHookV.dll into your main GTAV directory.

5. You need to download this gameconfig patch which contains an updated gameconfig.xml which you use OpenIV to replace the xml file located at: GTAV / mods / update / update.rpf / common / data.

The file is located here: https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gameconfig-for-patch-1-0-757-2-update-at-each-r-update

I did not have to delete x64a or anything like that. I just did these exact steps and I am able to play GTA V Redux finally!
