***Official GTX 670 thread***

Yes and yes.

you just unscrew it and it comes off

no increase in overclocking potential though, the windforce cooler is already very good and water doesn't seem to be adding anything in terms of OC

some people are still hitting 70 and saying that the card is throttling at that temp tho? i know for a fact my 570's on water NEVER go over 45 and thats running bf3 with 1.15v and 822 / 1990 mem. also less noise too? seeing i already have a full loop it would be rude not to put the 670's under water :P still i might hold off till they sort the stutter issue first (and ocuk drop there price)

Thanks, I have my GTX 670 Windforce in a Corsair 650D case, 200MM fan at front, 200MM fan up top and 120mm fan at back. I also have 2 x 140mm on my Thermalright Silver Arrow so very good airflow in my case, all fans on maximum.

So even in Heaven Benchmark it should be in the low 60's?

I have the 650D case too and my Windforce gets to around 70c too, so I don't think there's a problem with your card.

Idling @ 43-44 degrees

And load? Very nice build but the cards are very close, as with all DCUII dual card setups I imagine.

Also you probably don't need the external set of fans on the H100. At most your going to drop 1-3c with a push/pull config ;)

Edit: How are you getting on with the Sandisk SSD's? The price : performance ratio on those seems fantastic.

Of course its not true lol. You think nvidia would be that stupid?

You think Intel 'would be that stupid' with the first batch of P67 chipsets?

It happens, I wouldn't be surprised if its just a rumor thats picked up pace from some that claim to be 'in the know'.

IF it is true, then I think I'll be heading for a refund option rather than replacement.

performance degradation though? cmon, when was the last time you heard of a graphics card having performance degradation (although its the thing that would scare people the most so makes a nice rumour)

After being disappointed with my Windforces i bought 2x Asus DCUs and im blown away

so much better than the gigabyte from the build quality to overclock of the cards

maybe i was unlucky with my windforces but the max one of the boosted to was 1100 and the other 1163

overclocking didn't help much and i also had this strange problem where my system wouldn't shut down properly if i had both cards in

the asus on the other hand had no such problems shuts down fine and a simple overclock to 1000mhz resulted in a boost speed of 1200 for both and thats only my first attempt to overclock

not tried anything else im sure i can get them higher

the windforces are going back :D

From what I can make out, while the card is under consistant 'heavy load' the chip degrades, so we don't know what kind of toll having the GPU at 99% usage is doing too it or to what extent the damage caused is. For all we know it could only be 1% of all Kepler chips, but that 1% is enough to damage Nvidias stock prices hense why they would take a hit replacing the cards.

Who would have thought there would be performance degradation on SATA? LOl

Fun times ahead!

Indeed! :p

NVidia declined to comment on these rumours. What's that say?

That the story is that false they don't see it as worthy of commenting on, or they are drawing up a public statement and getting a replacement program in place to make it is smooth as possible.
