***Official GTX 670 thread***

111% Power Target
+105 GPU Clock Offset
+675 MEM Clock Offset

Maximum Boost = 1293 MHz but throttles to 1280 MHz due to 70°C

Stock Boost = 1189 MHz

I guess it's not that bad really not the best but not going to see a visible difference when gaming anyway if I could get one that did 1350 MHz.

Battlefield 3 Benchmarking PT.1

Using these settings:
BF3Settings.jpg

Operation Swordbreaker, at stock settings of 1215mhz boost with 6608mhz memory.

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
122522, 1183876, 49, 201, 103.492

Coming next, overclock at those settings, then full ultra max out at stock and OC.

Above with OC settings at 1370/7500:

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
138192, 1175374, 68, 201, 117.573

That's nearly a 15 FPS gain from stock, possibly more as my stock should be 1189 not 1215.

Above post edited, added my OC results too which shows a nice improvement, I'm now going for 'Full' ultra, which means all of the MSAA and HBAO available to me. - I might add that I'm getting pretty fed up of operation sword breaker atm :p

I'm still trying to get hold of a GTX680 Windforce bios to give that a try and see what happens.

It's right here in the TPU Bios repo...

http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/118487/Gigabyte.GTX680.2048.120327.html

Here's the main page for it so you can search by manufacturer, model etc...

http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/

Someone's already tried it and, much like your experiment with the Zotac AMP 670 BIOS, didn't find much difference despite the 135% power limit...

Finally, keep an eye on the thread linked below. A few users are experimenting with modding 670 Bioses...

Echoes what im seeing in online gaming, settings above. Gonna max out msaa and try it.

Thats unfortunate (about the 680 WF bios).

Haha yeah I've been keeping tabs on that thread for a good week or so now, nothing too ground breaking at the moment.

Are there any 8+8 pin 680's out at the moment?

@setter, like you I'm going to leave motion blur disabled, its not needed IMO :)

Back on the stock windforce bios now, got some crazy artefacting at stock with 4x msaa HBAO on the zotac bios.

If anyone has GB's OC GURU II installed and having problems opening Origin, remove it and Origin will run as normal.

I have the 680 version of my cards bios. I was going to flash, but I'm just going to wait , and hope the guys at MVKTech will be able to come up with a way to up the volts.

Does it seem right if my GTX 670 Windforce is hitting +70°C on stock clocks using default auto voltage setting in Heaven Benchmark?

Throttling using this cooler on default settings seems abit daft??

It's just how the cards are tuned. Nvidia are just balancing speed v noise. Stop worrying about voltages for now and just find your maximum boost that works in all situations and accept that's the maximum speed.

It's up to you if you want to run a higher fan to keep in the slightly higher voltage range, but for me the noise ain't worth it.

no it doesn't, most other users of Windforce cards are reporting low 60's out of the box, what case do you have and how is your airflow arranged?

if he had a reference card I would agree with you, but the windforce is supposed to be really cool running on stock settings and quiet even with 1300+ boost settings with a custom fan profile

Thanks, I have my GTX 670 Windforce in a Corsair 650D case, 200MM fan at front, 200MM fan up top and 120mm fan at back. I also have 2 x 140mm on my Thermalright Silver Arrow so very good airflow in my case, all fans on maximum.

So even in Heaven Benchmark it should be in the low 60's?

your case flow sounds fine

check the graph here;
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=21922576&postcount=2

all overclocked windforces, all below 70C, all running heaven
no one has given me exact fan % speeds but people are saying they are still virtually silent or barely audible at 1300+ speeds

turn off "auto" fan, set it to something you are comfortable with like 60% and then re-run heaven and see what temps you get, then try to OC from there

With a 1:1 ratio temp/fan speed in an 800D with next to no airflow I couldn't get my windforce above 60c even at a high clock speed with the air cooler attached.

Anyone want to confirm nibitor 6.06 is reading 670 BIOS files? Can't play with it until tonight, this pesky thing called work is getting in my way :p
