***Official GTX 670 thread***

Usually I'm not one for getting a card the day it's out but... excited!! haha. I've just ordered my pc minus the graphics card and monitor so planning on ordering them today, really hoping the 670 is what I'm looking for, as I can't really afford the 680 if I want food this month, which I do :P

:D

Im home:D Im ready and waiting. I really dont know what im gonna do until i see the prices. I really want to get windforce in SLI, but i maybe a little too much so ill get the kfa2 version if its cheaper.

A lot of people seem to want to go for the full length PCB, is there an particular reason why?

E-Peen I suspect.

I actually feel the full length PCB looks better though in a case. It just has more presence. Also I think people are expecting the full length PCB to clock better by the sounds of it. Obviously we have no idea how much truth there is to this theory so far.

Gibbo confirmed that very few of the versions (even aftermarket versions) have the Long PCB, so I think I'll be settling for a short PCB anyway...

It's so we can kid ourselves that this is a high end card and not the GTX 650 rebranded :D

GTX 650 = GTX 670
GTX 660/670 Ti = GTX 680
GTX 680 = (GK110 GTX 685?)

Kepler is a beast of an arch where a re badged mid range card can occupy the high end space and beat AMD's best. Likewise it is a bit of embarrsement for AMD that the GTX 670, tiny lil card can beat it's top 7970 card.

At least the 79XX series should see more price reductions soon though, the GTX 670 is more appealing than any AMD card atm imho.

Of course there's no 680s in stock because everyones been buying them. Of course there's loads of 7900s in stock because nobody is buying them.

AMD are desperate and losing in the high end.

Uhm no, you can have cards in stock and still not be satisfying demand. I.E. You have 3 weeks worth of stock but no chance of restocking for 5 weeks. Extrapolate this over 1000's of retailers and you can give the impression that you are always in stock whilst not being able to restock everybody on time.

Fact is, the punter who buys one card every 2 years CANNOT know the current supply and demand situation on the basis of looking at a few websites.
