****Official GTX580 user reviews/benchmarking/overclocking thread****

Only reason i didn't buy a 480gtx was the heat and noise and with my pc being in the bed room my other half would kill me since he gets up for work at 6am i had to buy an artic accelo cooler for my 4870x2 so he didn't throttle me when playing at 2am lol

580GTX looks perfect for me and i want to go nvidia because wow runs better on nvidia for some reason.. :(

Ok, so leagally speaking they have made an invitation to treat then and they have not accepted your offer as they have not taken payment. There is NO legal obligation for them to sell you the goods at that price then as no contract has been formed. The shop is free to refuse offers to who they like in fact. Also, consumer law allows for shops (online or otherwise) to make price mistakes and affords them the opportunity to correct that price mistake when they see fit.

The invitation to treat is the listing on their website, the offer comes from the consumer when they pass along all their details, acceptance comes when the etailer emails u confirmation of their acceptance. If the etailer has confirmed the order without delaying acceptance using some wording then a contract has been formed. Unfortunately, they are likely to have built in a way for them to renege on the deal by only confirming receipt of the consumer's offer.

Until they have taken money I thought a contract would not have been formed. That's how it is in a shop and I didn't think any special rules had been put in place for weborders where an email confirmation was considered a contract. Perhaps I'm wrong. I haven't practiced law in almost 7 years. Anyway, as you said they will probably have a way around it. And they can quote their T&C's anyway.

Under contract law they are entitled to cancel the contract provided they refund all monies paid up until the point the goods are shipped out the door. Once they've shipped the good they can't ask you to return them, etc.

Good luck to anyone getting that for £311 I think you will be very lucky as its obviously a mistake & £89 less than what I bought mine for last week in a shop (which was the rock bottom price @ £399.97).

+1

Until the retailer has sent a dispatch email for the order, the contract isn't complete. Your order is initially an offer of purchase to the retailer, which they will choose to accept or decline, depending on the circumstances.

There's an article about it on greyviper

I'd expect they'll be even more articles if they can't fulfil any of the orders though as it's currently ranked 203 (sales) :p

Every thread regarding that low priced GTX580 has been either deleted or locked, so perhaps best not to mention it further...

Anyhow, I finally got my 250mm fan mod done so I can cool them gtx 580's properly. Have the 2 corsair white led 200mm fans, and the side white led 250mm fan all hooked into the onboard fan controller and very quiet indeed and massive airflow when dialled up. My gpu's were idling at 38 and 33. They now idle at 33 and 30. And I've run Heaven a few times with the fan up and I have not seen them them go over 72. This is at 900mhz core and using the default auto fan profile (i only use this for benching, 830 for gaming, and stock for day to day). Previously I was hitting 86+. A side effect of this sidefan is the southbridge is running about 10 degrees cooler and the front fan I have rigged to blow air into the case depending on sb temps now stays around 900rpm. Before it would get up to 1400rpm. H70 is still push/pull as an intake so may reverse that so it outtakes now. After that, will do some proper benchmarks. 3 way SLI was a bust. GPU's went mad and stayed at around 60% fan speed all the time. Noise when gaming was unbearable.

I love that case which one is it if you don't mind me asking i love where you keep the SSD it's in the same posisition as mine in my case:)

It's a Corsair 600T. I used an Akasa SSD bracket for the SSD's. I would have put the top HD bay in that place instead but it was too much of a squeeze as the rampage III mobo connectors would have been crushed. Instead I used the SSD bracket and no more nails pads. Perfectly secure :)

Im not clear on this so im just going to ask but this card support 3 displays? and would it display onto 3 screens that use DVI-D, as i dont have hdmi inputs on the monitors.

For 3 screen gaming you'd need 2x 580s, for multi display desktop only you can use any extra card doesn't have to be another 580.

System in sig with Core 925, 1.100v and custom fan profile>
