Hogwarts castle at night is just stunning. Wow

I’m still trying to work out how the cycle works, I’ve only encountered night via main quests so far (early game).

I'm loitering on buying this. Is it actually a good game? I enjoy Harry Potter, but if it's basically just an impressive rendering of Hogwarts with a few quests I'm not sure it's one for me at full price. Is the game element of it actually decent?

It’s so much more.

My first game in a while I’m pleased I got it on day 1.

I’m quite early game still not got my broom but looking at the map it looks like there is tons to do and explore.

What I’m liking is that it doesn’t have that repetitive nature you get in an open world game.

You can manually change night and day cycles, however I won't ruin how

There is a natural night/day cycle that happens in real time. But if you select your map then press R3 you get an option to forward time to night/day.

If it happens real Time that explains why I never seen night naturally occur outside of main quests, as I played for around 3 hrs yesterday and it was daytime the whole time.

It’s better than we could have hoped. A real labour of love by the devs. I enjoy HP too and this doesn’t let it down. Played around 9 hours so far and the story is decent.

Terrible generally. In went physical just in case. Turns out I love it.

The films are ok especially the later ones. Read the books though they are brilliant. Again, especially later on.

Perhaps real time is the wrong phrase - there is a day/night cycle but it's compressed. Not sure what the length of the cycle is ... feels like somewhere between 1-2 hrs but happy to be corrected.

Ok so if I just freely explore without doing any main story quests, it should change from day to night. I’ve likely not played for that length of time in one go see, despite loving the game, I rarely play any games for long stints.

Yes. I’ve had it change from day to night and vice versa by just playing the game.

I’ve just watched the first two films off the back of playing this game, lots of nods to them which is great! Played 20 hours or so and still doesn’t feel like I’ve scratched the surface. Cracking game.

I joined Slytherian which I thought were the bad guys but I’m making friends with everyone in the school. Hopefully I can be evil later on.

I've started re-reading the books ... again, there is a lot of material referenced in the game. For real HP fans this game will feel like nirvana.

Yeah, there's a part with a load of quiz questions in the library. Some of them you won't have a clue unless you've read the books a few times.

Just finished the game. 40 hours playtime, lvl 34 Character, 67% challenges completed. Will go back and do more now to try and get 100% challenges. Might go for platinum trophy too. What a game!
