Official Home Gym Building Thread

Latest addition to my home gym setup...

http://uk.ultimatebodypress.com/product/the-original-dip-bar-by-ultimate-body-press/

Ordered yesterday, came today. Robust, solid, 2 minutes to put together & take apart, love it, going to use it for chest dips and hopefully at some point proceed onto weighted dips.

Can support up to 158kg.

Will obviously have to keep knee's bent, however the next option to do straight leg dips was around £150.

Ah..I was just going off the description suggesting it was suitable for "dip exercises". Shame if it doesn't have handles/option attachments.

Then again, I could get the same thing SixTwoSix has bought I guess. Hmm.

At first glance, the "dip station" I bought looks a bit cheap and tacky but once it's out of the box and assembled, it's really solid, for £60 it's a bargain.

One thing I really like is the dip handles aren't perfectly parallel, they're slightly narrower at one end, the dips feel much more natural using this than anything i've used in a gym.

You should have bought gymnastic rings. ;) :D

Have had a little expansion of my home gym to the fresh air :) Not sure how this is going to work in the Summer, the weather now though is ideal

A company called Dimension Fitness ME for built and installed my own mini rig. Got space for olympic rings, a rope climb, detachable dip bars, pull ups and a squat stand. The guys have done a great job - now just to get a rope and an extra pair of rings:

Same guys also made me a new toast rack for my bumpers and a friendly chippy I know over here assembled an Oly lifting platform for me:

Looking awesome, ronski - just fantastic.

Now all you need is to lift properly and stop all this 100000RM stuff. ;) :D

In thoroughly ironic news, my £43 squat rakc arrived today - I will be building it to see how it stacks up this evening.

Squat rack arrived today (as they promised) and also told me when the delivery would arrived!

Top marks for We R Sports on that count alone...

The rack itself? It took ten minutes to assemble from the first cut in the packaging. It is a nice silver colour and yes, the welds are a bit messy, but when bolted together it does two things:

- is tall enough for me so I don't have to stoop to unrack
- Iis solid. Really solid. I am nowhere near 270kg but it feels fantastic.

HOWEVER. It does not have dip handles or catchers. As I never use either, that doesn't bother me but it is unhelpful marketing by the site.

Regardless, this is an unbelievable piece of kit for the price - I genuinely have no idea how they can source/produce it for so little. Get one. In fact, get two.
