Did you play the first one?

It's more of the same, so if you liked that, pretty sure you will like this.

Great pair of games IMO, and well worth the buy.
Yeah I did in general, dragged a bit when doing the DLC. I was just wondering if all the bugs etc were fixed too
Edit: got 50hours out of the original, if it's as good this is prob worth it if similar game time

Do you have to have played the first one to enjoy the second? Looking at picking it up, but my friend was saying something about playing the first one before i do.

Not really. There is a video in the game that catches you up.

But it does help. If I never played the first I certainly would grab that and play it first and then this after. But maybe not back to back you may get burn out.

I would play the first as its quite cheap now.

Man setting up the game took a bit of time. Still not sure about the HDR settings but it seems okay. I turned off all the DLSS as it produced minor stutter when rotating the camera at high speed, running with just DLAA.

Can't decide if I should play pad or kb/m, I'm so used to aiming with the latter and I'm really bad at aiming with the pad, it just doesn't snap to the point I want like a mouse would which kind of matters when going for weak points.

edit: I had to manually add it to the app list so I could set game optimisation to high performance. (Crashed during prologue first time I ran it without, not sure if it made a difference)

Game does look awesome.

PS5 pad for sure. Loving it.

Managed to get to level 35 today. Way past @mrk

Did another tallneck, 2 main game quests and a bunch of side quests, camps and exploring.

Still don't get what naysayers were on about :p

I just got a new gamepad delivered today, the front face buttons are all micro switches with far less travel than the membrane buttons on everything else and it's a game changer mostly as a result, tactile micro switches are the way to game

Sent the 8BitDo back because it started creaking not even a full month into buying it!

Mouse camera will always be superior when driving as I can quick snap the camera as I drift round corners, but with adaptive trigger motors on the controller, acceleration and braking feedback does add an extra level of immersion :D

What controller is it out of interest? I have absolutely no desire to change from the PS5 controller as it's my favourite controller to date.

Yeah I recall you saying about the camera wotsits.

I ended up turning off the adaptive triggers in a lot of games because it was just annoying. I don't really want extra resistance when I'm pulling a bow string.

What I really would like to see is a keyboard with individual motors under the gaming WASD keys which offer similar force feedback! Imagine the space bar jolting too as you hti it to pull handbrake turns

You can toggle the adaptive vibration on the triggers on the fly so I can press 2 buttons to activate when getting in the car, basically the IRL equivalent of click clunk before setting off

Never heard of them tbh. Looks like pretty much every other controller, but I don't do asymmetric analogue sticks. Looks decent spec wise.

There are a few keyboards with analogue keys but not adaptive to my knowledge. Again, I thought it was really cool when I played the astro bot game on the PS5 which had great implementation of haptics, but overall it just got boring very fast. Well, not boring but annoying I guess.

Yeah for shooting I'll just toggle it off because the trigger haptics activate when aiming, just use it when driving which is where it makes the most sense.
