** Official ** January 2010 Transfer Thread- Rumours & Speculation in here

As an Arsenal fan, paying off a debt we owe on our swish new stadium is one thing, as at least there's a point to it, but if we were using all our finances to pay off some blokes debt (that he only accrued by trying to take us over), I'd be thoroughly annoyed with the situation.

The problem here is that fans don't want clubs ran like a business. If you bought a corner shop I am sure you would expect it's income to repay the loan-the Glazers/Hicks/Gillet expect the same. Right now football clubs are hugely overvalued as making profit's isn't really allowed!

A few papers are claiming it. It's not until the end of the season, and that figure is based on £60k a week and a £12m signing on fee!!

Surprised that he went to Liverpool, there were apparently many more top clubs in the hunt for him, can't see him being happy at not playing in the CL, they must have convinced him they'll achieve it

Ill wait till its official as its all from papers at the momeant, I hope its true as he is a striker but ive never seen him play so not sure how good he actually is

Tummy the source = papers, So ill wait till official as im pretty sure we aint official got maxi rodrigrez from atheltico madrid yet and they reported couple days ago would be within 24hours lol

I thought Maxi was a done loan deal, as he can't get in to the Ath first team and wants football.

The papers say a lot of things, they keep saying Sergio Agüero is going to Chelsea, despite him saying otherwise.

Another young French striker to sign. Let's hope if he does sign he is better than the recent young french 'stars' we have signed that have flopped.

Don't believe a word of that Chamakh story. Hicks is just trying to smooth over the situation his son has caused and promising (= lying to) the fans by telling them he'll spend big in the summer is just his way of doing things. Fortunately most fans treat him with the contempt him and his word deserve.

:D

Love how that's about wages, despite Sergio Agüero saying he's happy in Spain, doesn't fancy the English game and would like to either more to Italy or stay in Spain :D

Well I say he wants to move to Italy, Maradonna said he should go there.

I think it's more the papers finally just realising we're not going to buy anyone this window (as CA's said all along) so they're using wages as an excuse to cover up their fabricated story of a transfer in the first case ;)
