** Official ** January 2010 Transfer Thread- Rumours & Speculation in here

Pacheco's not a striker. Even in the reserves he rarely plays right up top and if the couple of first team apperances are anything to go by, he's going to be used in a similar way to how Benayoun is (ie just off the front or playing from 1 of the wings).

Chamakh seems to be flavour of the month with a lot of Liverpool supporters yet he's only scored 50 goals in 200 odd games in a weak league and he's 26. Don't see what's so special about him tbh unless he's the Heskey type.

What i mean, is i would rather we juggled things with Pacheco, Kuyt and Ngog than spend £12 million on Jones in the inflated Jan Transfer market.

Care to explain how he's been treated unfairly?

Not giving him a fair crack at the team, bring him on for the odd 10 minutes are not excactly going to boost his confidence etc.
I know how you train, your attitude is etc does effect getting in to team but sometimes Rafa makes strange decisions.

Lucas isn't that great a player, loses the ball too much, cannot pass and gives many fouls away - yet he remains in the team.

Babel had an extended run in the side towards the back end of his first season with us; he was incredibly inconsistent but you could forgive him slightly seeing as he's young and it was his first season with us.

In Holland's training camp prior to Euro 2008 he damaged his ankle ligaments which ruled him out of the tournement and the start of the season with us. However despite not being fit he went against the clubs wishes and played for Holland at the Olympics. As a result of this he lost his place in the side to Riera who had a fantastic start to the season (as did Gerrard, Torres and Kuyt who were playing in the other positions he could have filled). I'm sure you'd agree that it would be lunacy to drop a player that's playing well so Babel, just like Benayoun, had to work hard in training and take whatever chances came his way. Benayoun worked hard, played well when his chances came about and forced his way into the side ahead of Riera, Babel did the exact opposite.

He's had chances this season and last season and not only hasn't he performed well but he's not shown any effort or willingness to work either. If he put as much effort into his football as he does his sulking, twittering or rapping then he'd be a far better player than he is.

I've never really seen him given a run of games over the last couple of seasons, other then the run he got pior to his injury (waits for Baz to tell me I'm wrong) but I wouldn't say he's not being given a chance.

I remember seeing him play for Liverpool and just not being good enough, he clearly has an over inflated ego. (From what a fair few Liverpool fans say)

Lucas isn't ****, he's not brilliant but he's not ****. He's been doing quite well for them considering all the negative stuff around them at the minute.

Probably got an injunction along the lines of his private life is not in the public interest because of his kids.

Gary Lineker and Michael Owen both played that card in the past

Rumour today going around that Huntelaar is after a loan move to secure a place at the World Cup in the Dutch squad. I for one would very much like to see him come and do us a job at the Emirates.

I'm sure I read somewhere, FIFA have said he'd played for Real Madrid and AC Milan this season, so therefore he can't play for a 3rd club this season.
