I was watching his press-conference on SSN and he claimed that Liverpool are publically and privately unsettling him. I'm all but certain that Liverpool would have tapped him up (I'm all but certain it happens in 99.99% of transfers these days) but Fat Head is the only 1 talking about any deal publically which is just causing more media speculation.
 
he probably saw rafs press conference where he refused to deny the rumour and was grinning like a chesire cat every time they asked about it. if there had been nothing from liverpools end he would/should have said so. clearly summit has gone on behind the scenes, bruce wouldnt be that ***** off for no reason.
 
What else could have Benitez done? It's clear we've made some kind of contact regarding Jones so when he's asked about it he can either completely lie and deny it, not comment or confirm it.

Had he confirmed we're after him then Fat Head would have moaned that we're unsettling him publically....oh wait he's done that anyway :p

Not all about pace either, footballing brain! Positioning/finishing skills/ability to read the game add up for a lack of pace.
 
Thank god Bruce has got annoyed. Kenwyn Jones isn't a bad player, but would be an absolute waste of money at £10m plus. Rafa needs to learn to save his pennies and spend the pounds. We need to sign another world class player for £20m rather than another squad player.

He's injured almost constantly though and they're only going to get worse, if clubs are thinking of bashing £100kp/w on him then I think they need sectioning, not good value.

Also, Raul and Henry are of similar ages but have both been much better recently, and neither of them are worth £100kp/w either.

Ruud might be slow but just look what Sheringham did for Utd. Proves that older experienced players can help out even the top teams.
 
Personally dont think RvN was as clever as Sherringham - absolutely fabulous player but his main weapon was his pace over a few yards (best goal poacher
OT has seen)

TS had a real footballing brain and could read the game exceptionally and thats why I personally prefer him
 
Teddy is not in RvN's league in terms of Utd Strikers - RvN is the greatest finisher I have ever seen and it's a shame that SAF was obsessed with 4-5-1 for most part of his career with us.

Teddy did play well in the 98-99 season but Yorke, Cole and Ole were always my preferred options - all three class!
 
Good move for Senderos...at least he will get a chance to play some games so he can reinforce his place for the WC finals later this summer.

No he wasn't.

RvN was a beast of a goalscorer.

He might be old, slow and injury prone but he always was. United got him the back of him having a busted knee, and he was never quick, but he scored goals.

150 apps for United, 95 goals.

Thats not half bad.
