*** Official Kinect Thread ***

i've got Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports, Kinectimals, Your Shape and Dance Central.

not really played Adventures as i'm mostly playing Sports when using Kinect.

i do a daily exercise with Your Shape and then onto Sports that is just so much fun when playing against others on-line with the football and Table Tennis being my fav's.

i'm useless at Dance Central but like it, while the wife and daughters have taking to it like a duck to water

Kinectimals is very cute and it keeps the attention of my youngest usually with her only stopping when she's "knackered" as she puts it.

I've got Kinect Adventures which my daughter and I have probably played the most. It's the only game where I can feel some lag but it's great fun.
Kinectimals which I can't get my 6 yo daughter off. Very poilished and good fun; I've had 30 mins with it but it's not really my thing.
Your Shape is phenomenal. I did a big work out 2 days ago and had to have a day off today as I'm aching. It's responsive and everything I'd want from a fitness game. My wife loves this.
And Dance Central which is superb but tough; then again I'm a pudgy 36 year old white male who wasn't made for dance. That said I love it and get 3 or 4 stars on most the songs on easy and tbh I don't care if I'm rubbish.

I'd recommend all these games. I should get Kinect Sports tomorrow which has had great reviews and I'm still thinking about Sonic. I've tried the demo and it wasn't responsive enough but it's probably the closest to a 'game' at launch and was actually quite fun.

Bah, got paid today so was going to pick one up but everywhere seems out of stock apart from maybe a couple of places, including OCUK, but the page for the Kinect is slightly misleading so waiting to hear back from them.

Would love it for this weekend as I've got the house to myself so can't make myself look like a fool in front of people just yet :D

Has this been updated on the fly? My panels on the Kinect Hub now have a tilt to them when I move my hand over them. Some of the stuff reacts quicker, the selection hand fills up quicker as well, also noticed it on Kinect Adventures. I don't remember getting any updates since the last time I used it.

Did anyone buy EA Sports Active 2.0 yet?

Yep.

When playing it, the amount of space required in the room will make you feel like you need your own private gym hall. You have to get on the floor quite often, and the sensor can't track you properly if you're closer than around 6 feet.

You'll also want to invest in a mat or something to do your yoga moves, press-ups etc. on.

Oh, and pain killers. Lots and lots of pain killers. I just about broke a sweat when I first started doing it. Got a pretty decent workout (in between trying to get more space as the sensor was complaining), and despite not being absolutely destroyed on the cardio side of things, my legs HURT BAD.

It's always been that way. There have been no downloaded updates since the initial connection/dash and whatever small patches are on the game discs.

The "tilt" has always been there - if you move your hand around the edges of the selection blocks on the Kinect dash they tilt slightly as though you're pressing on that area. I've noticed it from day one.

My Kinect turned up earlier so will be hooking it up as soon as I get home and having a blast. The sports game should hopefully be at home by the time I get there :D

At the moment I just whack mine on the top of the telly with a load of Blu-Tack. Works fine, and I take it off when I'm done. :D

Obviously wouldn't be suitable if you're using a more recent, thinner model of LCD or Plasma.

Blu-Tack sounds like a plan.

Just had it on top of my TV and it balances, though the angle is wrong, so BT to give the back some height and were sorted i reckon.
