***Official Left 4 Dead 2 Thread***

HMMM...a bit of deja vu here. I'll repeat what I said last time, anyone I catch using this exploit will be kicked from the server, no warning after the initial promise at the start of the map between both teams that they will not use this exploit.

In other news, people remember the 8v8 due this Saturday evening, I will have my wine ready! :p
 
What times everyone doing the 8v8 tonight? might not be back in time but if i am id be up for it

I'm gonna set one to start at around 9pm tonight.

Btw, I've changed a few small things:

-5 hunters can spawn at a time
-2 Chargers can spawn at a time
-Boomer Spews for longer
-Witch health lowered to 2x normal
-Smoker tongue health decreased to 3x normal (instead of 10x normal)
-Survivor Revive health increased to 50 from 40.

The changes were definitely an improvement on 8v8, though im sure i never actually seen 2 chargers at once?

I did. Not very often but it did happen. It is random though, I'm glad we didn't constantly get 2 chargers at once or it would have been far too manic. For the last two stages I dropped common down to default as the server was getting very heavily loaded.

To also help keep performance up on the other servers (2x l4d1, 3 of the l4d2 and the TF2 server) I have stopped the 8v8 server again, and will only set it running when an 8v8 is due (weekends only).

After Defrag hit the finale radio button, he ran back to the house just as the horde arrived and said, "ok, where shall we do this?" and then it all hit the fan. Have to say, I've never completed that level in versus before (that I recall) - mind you, every level before that was a bit of a struggle :D

Bledd going down (as in dying) at the saferoom door on level 2 was pretty funny. When we organised the attack we really didn't realize it was going to be so effective! :p

Good game though guys. :)
 
ok i just restarted the modem, most basic thing ever to try :P and the ping has gone down to 59, so im hoping it was just that, will test it out again.

edit: nah its gone right back up again, lag even worse now, sounds like it might be a problem on virgin medias end. Lowest ping in the server browser is 700.

Sounds very much to me like someone on your network is downloading who shudn't be. If everyone is using wireless, change the password so that only you can access it, restart the router and see what happens.

Chances are they are using a torrent program nonstop and if you don't limit the upload speed on those they kill the internet for anyone on that network.
 
Just about any torrents will absolutely kill any internet access, no matter the download speeds in my experience. having said that there was the time I was downloading the Star Trek online beta client and was maxing about 250kb/sec so I thought about playing some MW2 just to see what it was like. next thing I was the host about 4-5 rounds in a row. With the download still running. :eek:

It's not so much the download speed you need to worry about, it's the upload speed.
 
Anyone else find it difficult to connect to decent public servers? I've had excruciatingly long load times, disconnects and I'm really not a fan of the random server match-up thing. I wish it would be sensible and connect me to nearby UK servers rather than Russia, and that is using 'Quick Match' where there should be plenty of choice.

Pain in the *** sometimes, just want to jump into a game and get going :(

Other than that, fantastic game...

Feel free to use the OcUK servers. Branded as LTUK they're listed in the original post of this thread. :)
