***Official Left 4 Dead 2 Thread***

Grrrr!! Played the following day on the OCUK server and Masai was there again and again when he defibbed someone it apeared that i was brought back from the dead and lost all my points, weapons, health packs etc.

Got another question reference buying stuff. When you buy health, weapons etc, they appear instantly, several times now i have bought tanks and witches and they don't appear. How does the tank/witch buying work?

Unless OcUK have started their own servers unbeknown to me, or someone else has and has brought in a buying system, you canno0t buy weaponsm, witches, tanks or anything infact to use ingame. My servers (LTUK, listed on the OcUIK steam community page and at the beginning of this thread)) are totally unmodded, apart from Sourcemod, which is for admin purposes only. Haven't noticed the defib issue myself, but then we don't die very often... :p

If you are defibbed it should give you no weapons or health packs though you can pick them straight up again. If it is happening when somebody else is defibbed and it is one of my servers, post the IP address and I'll look into it.
 
Must have been votekicked. Same name as here.

No idea who was on as I spawned in the middle of some carnage, got attacked by 20 zombies, took a couple of shots and got kicked.

My ping does spike a little whenever I join a server so it might have been that. Always settles into a decnot one after 10 seconds though.

The servers DO kick if you have some hacks installed, but they dont ban. Probably a Votekick.
 
SERVER ANNOUNCEMENT

LTUK server IPs have changed as we have moved to a new server. Ports are the same, but the new IP address is: 188.165.246.52. Servers not yet running but hopefully they soon will be.

This does not affect LTUK 3 however as it is seperate, as such it remains the same IP address as before.
 
I'm always up for trying to get 8 people to play again like in the early days of L4D2 and the days of L4D1.

Unfortunately trying to find 8 people who want to play and not always in the same set teams proves very difficult.

Team Versus is a good idea, but it's very broken due to the nature of the "pr0s" that play it, who pretty much always rage when they lose and/or constantly insist on confogl.

What I ideally need to find for L4D2 to be great again:

-8-16 people who'll play both Versus and Expert campaigns well, who don't mind mixing the teams, who'll all happily play on the LTUK servers (no mods) and who between them have 8 other friends who are good at the game, who'd all be up for 8v8 on the odd occasion (the server is up again as we moved physical servers, which reminds me that I need to update the first post with their IPs). Chances of that happening? Quite low. :(

To set up your game to always use the LTUK servers. At least 1 should be free most of the time, LTUK3 or LTUK5, but if none are, the command in the autoexec.cfg file will stop you from being able to join other servers. You will have to get someone else to host the game in this instance.

Confogl is the best. The only globally accepted competitive mod for l4d2. No one who is any good plays team versus. Confogl teams that 'rage' have probably found a proper match on the clan network. I'm glad you enjoy your friends games- but imagining you are good at this game is ridiculous and offensive.

What usually happens in team versus:

confogl player: hi guys
confogl player: confogl?

*no response*

confogl player: erm..guys
newbs: no gayfogl ****
confogl player: some verbal retaliation

Confogl just sucks all the fun out of the game. No T2 weapons, pills everywhere (quicker to use then medkits, so why have them?) and it doesn't fix the random spawned commons, which tbh is the biggest balance problem in a vs game, the horde amount can be different for both teams and the placing can also make it harder for one team then the other. I wouldn't begin to see how to fix that, but confogl doesn't attempt to address it.

I like some of the changes confogl has to offer, but as any team I've played confogl against rages when they start losing that as well. I see no point. Also they usually say "not playing finale" if they are winning or losing.

Also, on making it harder on survivors it makes it easier for the infected side. That's balancing? Next they'll stop infected players from using the right mouse button to swipe calling it a balance fix.

If you are a pr0 at a game you shouldn't need to change a game to make it suit your playing style. So confogl loses. :p

Insanity changes things for both teams to try to make the game less frustrating to play with players of varying skills. Higher skilled players should get further, lower skilled die quite quickly. (Also, I save Insanity for friends games only.)

If you "pr0s" think you really are good, why not play Realism VS mode more, you know, an actual official game mode, instead of moaning at other Team Versus players to play your modded game?
 
Vanilla teams on team versus rage if they are losing too, it's hardly unique to confogl teams. But you repeatedly imply it is.

Did I say that? I don't believe that I did, if it sounded like I did then I apologise, but it's a problem with team versus in general, not the confogl players only. It just becomes more annoying when they rage, because they insist on a game mode that I'll play, but find boring compared to vanilla overall, yet they still rage when they get beaten at it.

Give me a confogl with just the starting medkits/pills (no others along the map), tier 2 weapons and a few other tweaks from the standard version and I'll play as a few things that it implements such as the scoring system are actually better.

Some updates have been made to Insanity Versus. Long time since I've done this.

Changes:

General:
-Game mode now locked to Versus.
-Extra Gore now added.

Survivors:
-A fix has been added meaning that survivors now take damage while they are getting up after a charge in spit for example.
-Medpacks removed outside saferoom, replaced with pills.
-Have slightly more revive health. 35 now instead of 30.

Infected:
-Witch is now calmed down slightly. She still instakills though.
-Max spawn time for Infected ghosts are now 22 seconds.
-Ghost run speed increased very slightly.
-Ghosts can now jump by right-clicking (default).
-The Smoker Cloud is now more useful for the Infected. It now blocks revival of downed survivors when it is active.
-The boomer slap mod has been added. Boomer's can slap survivors for some bonus damage and a little message. Also sending them on an unscheduled flight...
-Boomer claw damage after initial big slap reduced from 8 per hit to 7.
-DoubleTank and End Tanks not spawning bug Fixed.

As ever if these changes cause a large amount of inbalance I will look at changing them again.

I will probably be testing it out tonight. Who's interested?
