I thought you asked earlier in the thread which 1 to buy? Did you buy L4D1 in the end?
Doesn't matter, answer is the same. L4D2 is a little more demanding than L4D, but only a little. Ie if your computer just about runs L4D then it may not run L4D2, however if it runs L4D1 on high fine then chances are it will at least run L4D2 fine on medium.
Hope I didn't lose you there lol, basicly it should be fine.
I've actually found l4d2 runs faster, so should be fine

l4d2 is more demanding apparently. Someone on my flist has both and a laptop and lfd2 only works with add on maps for him otherwise its like slow mo
On the blog somewhere they mention how they added in details for 2 especially with the horde. Is your laptop dual or quad core
I have dual core and on some of the more whacky servers or if an admin orders up 10 hordes, its struggling.
On a quiet map set to easy difficulty Im sure even a modest laptop on either game is fine, its not a cutting edge game but does use the cpu

Ah right, thanks for the headsup on INX, I had enough trouble with Multiplay (spent more time trying to get the game to run properly than I did actually playing) so I think I'll have a look at GTX first. I'll give them a whirl for a month and see how things go.

No once a steam game is bound to your account it can't be resold(but you do get all the steam benefits, unlimited downloads etc).
