If steve doesn't die we lose!!!! Which means it will be an easy win for us 
Hopefully it's a big red button he runs up to and goes "oooh shiny" and presses it every time while we're still in the saferoom. He gets killed by fifty tanks and we laugh and drink beer

I bet there will be an achievement for being the sacrificial lamb for this campaign. Expect to see plenty of arguing about who gets to earn the achievement, and several wipes of entire teams by tanks, as they all fight to press the button and sacrifice themselves.
Its always possible that only Bill can die, after all he was the dead survivor in The Passing, so maybe we don't get to choose ingame?

Valve have already said that any character can die, but the canon ending is Bill.

I'm looking forward to sacraficing Steve...Maybe we could practice in the next game we're in with him? On Dead Centre....
Haha, if we play Dead Centre, it's almost guaranteed that you'll be killed on the first level

I don't mind pressing the button so long as Steve is incapped and complaining right next to me as i do it.
Just caught up on this, sacrificing Steve would be epic. He'd try and worm his way out of it, for sure.
I can just see it now, Indiana Jones style with Midnight standing next to Steve pointing at his heart saying "Kaallii maaaa" and Steve repeating "OH NOM SHEE BI, OH NOM SHEE BI."

I hope that The Sacrifice is more suitable for versus than The Passing...
Don't get me wrong, I like the passing as a campaign, but in versus it always seems to come down to the final map. The first stages two are so long (particularly the second stage), that fairly significant gains in these maps (particularly map 2), can be negated by just one or two extra cans in the final map.
