Wow, that seems kind of retarded... I would have assumed you would just swing your melee weapon if you had exchanged it with the pistol. But hey - magical pistols... Who's to argue?

Yeah it works for me. Just crashed though. I might be playing later on. Need to do some work first.
Those of you with Stuttering of frames, try disabling Multi Core Rendering.
Fixed the problem for me.
Found out this on the halflife2 forum.
You can currently get all of this in the Left 4 Dead 2 demo.
|needs sv_cheats 1 on|
first of you need your own server with sv_cheats on
or play single player..
then in console put sv_cheats 1
(local server will do)
and then
give weapon_grenade_launcher

Just played a few games and first impressions are very good. I love the new weapons, in particular the machete and desert eagle. In fact I found myself using pistols a lot, they sound awesome.
However, like others have said, it does feel slightly less gritty than l4d - maybe its just the map but from the frying pan and guitar melee weapons to the jockey zombie overall it has a more lighthearted feel to it. I think the new charger zombie is pure class, though, and I reckon the jockey will be a lot of fun to play in vs. Also, as someone pointed out in our game, the range of weapons really highlights how limited you were in l4d. Things like the bile grenade are fantastic additions.
