The point is that the AI will be terrible/too easy to focus-fire. Not much fun. Would work in coop, not in Vs.

Let's see... So the problem is the infected might all be attacking one target - The NPC?

If a survivor were to stand out all alone, and the infected all tried to attack that survivor, with the other three covering... How well would it work? Hunters would get fried in a fraction of a second. Boomers wouldn't get close generally. And smokers, a quick mouse2, done....

Now with four survivors protecting?

I know this has probably been asked a million times already, but as someone that bought Left 4 Dead about a month ago and loved every second spent playing it, is L4D2 a worthy purchase?

Thank you. :D

Hard to tell at the moment, but:-
1) For £20 (if you get it via 4-pack) you can't really go wrong.
2) The melee weapons seem a bit of a frill. But we'll see in time.
3) The new infected seem good, probably very good fun playing them. Have to see how more infected boss types than possible players playing them works out.
4) All the new weapons... Hmmm... Some seem to just be variations of the same flavours. Again, will have to see.
5) There's something about the graphics - maybe it's just my imagination - but they don't look as crisp/detailed?

Unfortunately the demo doesn't give a lot away, but it looks promising.

just played the demo , and YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS get it even if you have L4D 1 as this does feel different , great to smack a infected armoured police officer with a guitar 10 times on the head kill him , take his night stick and pummel his partner with it ! oh yes l4d2 is awsome so far , and the complaints about it being day instead of night and dont see the problem with , the infected dont go to sleep during the day there not vamps lol

Yes.

Left 4 Dead 2 is shaping up to be what Left 4 Dead should have been.
It's clear that Valve have understood what worked, what didn't work and what people wanted, and then they've added everything they wanted to put in to the first.

Feel's like meeting an old flame, who's suddenly turned into a stunner.

It looks nicer, and runs smoother imo.

Quad core 6600, 4GB DDR2, Nvidia 260 "maxcore" and it runs fantastic, looks fantastic :)

I want to say: 'Sold', but I need three similarly positive 'yes' answers. ;)

Yes, both of which you'd both ****! (Pasty smash)

Basically, I loved L4D, wet my pants when it came out and loved it every second. I still enjoy the game but after 6 months of constant playing it got a little samey for me. Largley down to the map content. Even with all the special addons to make it better/harder/stronger/faster it was still the same map where you know every little spot and basically all tactics.

Nothing really too bad to say about the game, what Valve didn't finish was minor and pretty much covered by the modding community. They could have put more effort into releasing more official maps as those guys clearly have skills where the modding community largley doesn't (possible exception with Dawn of the Dead tonight? :D)

L4D2 is a breath of fresh air and everytime I keep playing the demo I just get the feeling that I can't wait for the full game. Campaigns on Expert, New Game modes, Verses with the new infected and maps...it's going to be amazing.

I just hope Valve keep doing some nice DLC efforts, mainly for me with increasing the number of campaigns/maps. They have a winning formula, imo, they just need to expand on it.

Sweet graphics, runs nicely, looks good, sounds good, feels good and is just top notch fun/entertainment.

Essentially, it's damn good and playing with friends/OcUK community makes it amazing.

How many of you found you've played it a few times through, and that's it for the demo?

I've probably gone through it about three times, and I sort of feel I'm done with it.

I want to add I had my first "retard" group today, couldn't stand these other people.

One was alright, trucking about with him. Other two didn't care were slow, and not doing much think they killed 9/10 Zombies each.

We made it to the first safe house, after about 25 minutes and I left.

The demo is very short, but gives enough to give you a taste of whats to come, I've done it a fair few times and have enjoyed every run, the game is very good. Can we have it now please :(

nawwwwww im missing out on all the demo goodness.

Myself and cat have been moving into our new flat this past week so will prob be another week or so before broadbands ready to go.

Keep a space for us ready for some gamings soon, sharpy effect needs to be brought to l4d2.

Has the midnight effect had the same impact on the demo?

The more i play the demo the more i like it but i still think L4D1 looked a lot better and had much better characters. Really not keen on all the bright colours and it just feels wrong for a zombie game.

Loving some of the new weapons, the sounds are also a lot better.

In training.
Yes we know you don't like the daylight by now, wow lol, way to moan; this is the only daylight campaign. I myself like the daylight.
Can we move on?
I didn't care much for the intro movie at first; the more I play this demo, though the more I am falling in love with it and all aspects.
This game is the buisness. :)
Roll on V's.

Fair comment but again, I'm not suggesting an NPC that tries to navigate around a myriad of paths... Just one whose job is to go from A to B, most likely not even caring about the survivors as such. You're telling me an NPC can't walk from A to B on a predefined route? Of course it can... :)

and an ai walking along a predefined route would be slaughtered as it would be very predictable, and get caught by hordes etc.

People want to shoot zombies not baby sit a bot.

So as the NPC is going from A to B (on the predefined route he cannot get lost on), the survivors simply have to keep him alive, and the infected can attack the NPC or the survivors.

When the NPC gets to B, the mission continues... Maybe he's going to open the safe room or something for them... Viola... No rocket science required, and a nice change in game play/stype for very little effort :)

I honestly couldn't think of anything more frustrating than losing because of something uncontrollable like an AI to baby sit.

if it's dynamic, and reacts like a normal surivor bot then it add s a huge dolop of luck to a levl, where one teams bot could run into a room during a horder and be safe the others could run into the street and die.

and if it's just following the same static route every time, then what happens when a horde comes or it gets boomed does it just plod on regardless?

In any game i cannot think of one pleasurable escort mission.
