**** Official LG G4 Discussion Thread ****

Here's a low light example I took in a fairly dimly lit underground car park.

Auto HDR ISO 400, 1/20s

Manual ISO 50, 1/2s

Auto mode did it's best to make the image look bright by boosting ISO and a slower shuter speed. I also took the shot in manual mode with a very slow shutter and low ISO.

The both look pretty similar in quality when resized to 1280px

Below I have cropped in to show the differences in quality...

As you can see the shot taken in manual mode is far superior...less noise, cleaner details.
This give far more scope for cropping an image.

Cheers Kona, Looks like a quality camera for a phone. I too shall go out hunting! Its more money than I want to spend but boredom needs fixing!

Actually Kona,

Can you take a couple of photos with raw and jpg please ? It'd be interesting to see how much compression the camera applies.

Cheers, it's a great phone cam and made even better with a clean and intuitive camera UI.

I've never really dabbled in RAW processing. I'm sure they'll look even better. The LG processing does over sharpen a little.

You should try it. Not only for the extra detail, but the fact you have a digital negative you can't accidentally mess up editing!

While the pics would potentially look a little better if i processed them myself , it would involve a lot more time in the process.

Its theres as an option for those that want it which is good.

Yes definitely. Also the colours and white balance are quite off. While I don't mind over saturated colours to a degree, this has colours that are off in hue...reds in particular I notice. And the white balance is far too cold and blue, really not nice. DCI standard my ass.

You know me :D

Good stuff. Sunday delivery?

I've got this case btw, v.good value http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00UMDOHRC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I was reading that the colour calibration is way off the standard 6500K and is closer to 8000K which is slightly annoying.

Yep I know you! Haha always the supporter of OLED! ;)

Well it would've been delivered tomorrow (Thursday) however I got an email that stock has been delayed and will now be delivered on the 30th which is a slight inconvenience but I'll survive!

Nice case! Thanks for the link and the price makes it even more tempting! :)

Superb set of pictures, thanks for taking the time out to snap a few shots in varying conditions. The one's in the restaurant are amazing! The camera is certainly top notch and I can't wait to get my hands on the device.

Not sure if it's supposed to, but I got the titanium grey back in the box too. Will update later once I've used it for a little bit, for reference though I didn't like the S6 and sent it back. This one is staying though (at least for now) as I got it instore so can't return it! :p

Looks lovely scottland!

Any chance you'd mind taking a couple of photos in raw and jpg and uploading them? Pretty please ;)
