*** Official Mass Effect 2 Thread ***

Yup came in to see if anyone had noticed. Find it hilarious that people go on about PC gaming being dead and constantly bringing up the whole piracy thing.

I bet a good couple million people will be playing pirated copies on consoles before the PC "pirate" version hits the net.

Oh well, is the release date on the PC still the 29th or something? Got it pre-ordered, really hope it comes a day or two early and doesn't have issues with being played right away(like only unlocks on release day type issues).

Absolutely can't wait for it, and while it appearing for xbox is encouraging in terms of being released very soon on the Xbox, I guess it could still be delayed on the PC quite easily....... praying that won't happen.

Hmm, interesting, i can only wonder if theres actually a point in having that many teammates though.

Its a shame to see the usual 'play the game and do nothing out of the ordinary' method of getting all the achievements. I mean the only remotely challenging 1 will be to complete the game on Insanity.

I particularly like the achievements for completing the first chapter/area.

Whehey, you're not a complete dunce now have this shiney .jpg as a record of your fantastic achievement :p

I also like how they padded them out by giving you achievements for recruiting everyone... then gaining there trust. Why not just gain there trust and spend some time making some real achievements ><

Oh well, no doubt Xbox retards would complain if they actually had to try to get some gamerscore... Gnome Chompski says hello :p

The achievements for the second look more attainable than the first. The devs said that with the sequel they wanted to avoid all repetitive grind from achievements, while still making them difficult to achieve.

I'm all for that. Grinding in a game like this really 'grinds my gears'.

Edit. That has got to be the most epic game trailer I have yet seen.

*looks through them again* well it seems they managed the first part but failed spectacularly at the second.
Its strange, Mass Effect 2, a much more mainstream game than Dragon Age, ME2 contains nothing but lame achievements that you get as you play through (by the looks of it, probably in a single play too), nothing special at all, DA:O contains a full set of achievements that actually encourage you to play each Origin, take different sides to quests, play each primary character and generally want you to replay the game over and over because you wanted to.

I think it says something about there target audience tbh. ME2 is clearly more directed at console gamers who probably rate a game based on how easy it is to boost there e-peen, sorry, gamerscore in the minimum time. ME1 encouraged you to play through the whole game with different styles to get the 'ally' achievements, clearly some people thought that they MUST get these achievements and whined about the grind...

Anyone got this from the EA store, was just wondering when we can pre-load as it isnt showing up in my Ea download manager.

I have pre-ordered from EA Store and I'm expecting pre-load probably Tuesday next week. I think that's when Dragon Age pre-load became available. Or could have been Monday.

Any reason why this never got 4packed on Steam? Would have been a buy from me straight away - now just making sure they dont drop the price 2weeks later like they seemed to have done lately...

As just a SP I dont have the normal must buy it now attitude...

ps3ud0
